Getting terrible lag spikes, dropping to 5fps. I meet the system requirements.

I have all the minimum requirements and still seem to be lagging so much that the game becomes unplayable. It happens once every 15-30 minutes and they last 3-5. Note: I do not have anything else open (Firefox, Photoshop...) I also have the latest version of Java and updated my driver 2 days ago.

Here are my specs.
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor (4 CPUs) ~2.8GHz
RAM: 6144MB
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9100 with 2923MB of memory.

Does anyone have any ideas why I am having these random lag spikes?

Edit1: I also play on the lowest graphics setting, lowest screen size, and on compatibility mode.

Start taking note of when it

Start taking note of when it happens most. I have a hunch you'll find it's usually when one or more of the following is happening: when you are in a party, fire may be around, people are shooting with Antigua line of guns, people are shooting the auto-gun line of guns, waves of bad guys are spawning, you are in a party and moving 'back into view' of some intense objects to be rendered (in my case.. people leaving my screen view and coming back in over and over again, especially when shooting their Argents at Vanaduke or the tons of little jellies on Jelly King).

I can't offer you any support for solving this.. but if we have the same problem maybe we can band together to see that it gets fixed!

@midnitepro: Are you sure its

@midnitepro: Are you sure its a GT 9100? Thats on the extremely low end IGP that you usually only find on cheap netbooks.

@pokofire: Meeting the system requirements doesn't automatically mean it'll run smooth. ATI issues aside, weaker hardware is going to struggle to keep up, just like any other 3D app. Lowering settings can reduce the load, but there are still limits.
