I have so much damage increasing gear, and I use a good pc, and cant deal with, like anyone well. I avg 5k dmg and 3 caps with BKC and Skolver coat. I use a BTB and two pentas. I spent months of allowance making this loadout, practice daily, and still suck this badly. Give me general tips to help my leave the spiral into depression knights part of sk.
Im bad help
Try playing with one weapon only. Don't even equip anything to the rest of the slots.
You're not going to be good if you try to play like everyone else. What everyone will tell you to grab a Final Flourish and Gran Faust and you're set.
It entitles that you are meant to play like everyone else which is fine but that isn't for everyone. The problem with FF/GF is that you're unknowingly trying to use both weapons either equally or just because you already have it so why not.
Play with one weapon only and discover what your play style is about. Take your time and make every action count. Having one weapon serves as a baseline of how carefully you should be playing. Analyze what you can do with one weapon. Having two weapons, you could easy switch and hit or miss again. Believe me, I can guarantee every LD'er does this. They just attack attack without even giving area to think about the bigger picture.
And this what separates from smart play and reflex play, if you don't have the reflexes to visually see and do it on the fly accurately, you need to back the "F" off and start playing like you're old wise person (slower player).
Okay
I thank you very much for the process you gave me and how much help you have already been. The weapons I use are a valiance, an argent peacemaker, and a BTB with Asi med. The BKC also has shadow defense high.
I will try the one weapon method once I get home
Don't play aggresive, and wait for openings. If you really need to, run around your enemies until they fuck up and double/triple swing, leaving them open. Run in, hit them once and dash back out again. Easy, safe damage. Lead people back instead of rushing towards them, if they chase you, its easier to predict where they are going/what they will do.
One weapon method helps too, just so that you learn the mechanics one by one. Why focus on swapping weapons when you're shit at using any weapon.
Guns should be used mainly when you both have run out of striker dash, giving you safe range without the enemy being able to dodge it. Or, you can use it to retreat seeing as you can shoot whilst moving.
With caps, simply go to your closest point, fight off enemies ON THE CAP, don't be stupid and fight them in walkways or other areas because you aren't capping anything during that time, you're just purely there for the damage. If you fight on the cap, you can help your team out more. Hopefully, if you survive the fight, go to the next cap and work your way around the map, basically running in a large circle through each point. If you are on low health, just retreat and pull enemies around the map towards other people from your team, who are hopefully on a cap. that way you're bringing the enemy away from solo caps and taking them onto a cap where your team can defend against them. All the while, you should be able to shoot behind you and do some chip damage, based on how smart you are with your movement.
Hope it helps :3
^ Ariave, I think the OP is mainly concerned with being able to kill people at this point. A lot of those suggestions will be relevant after they can stay alive and play more strategically with the goal of winning.
@Buster: The only way you can get better is to play more and get familiar with the flow of things. Neb's suggestion is good, just use one weapon (one loadout if you really need a second weapon) and one class. As long as you know how to shield cancel, all you need left is practice. Forget the other complicated advice you might get.
Like anything, the people who do well in LD have played A LOT so you can't get there without doing the same. You'll suck a lot at first, but keep playing and don't give up.
Try playing without pendants. It's a pain but it will make you really aware of everything (2 hits will kill you as striker).
Thank you very much for the tips. I wouldn't care if I was new though, I've played since 2012. I just never got good.
Thanks Ari for the tactics help, thanks wqksayi for the difficult name and the idea for learning better survival, thanks leek for the reassurance that I can do it and the ability to chill on the complicated parts.
Yall are G, thanks guys.
Too lazy to read so don't mind me if someone's already told you this. Don't combine bkc with skolver, it gives you NO piercing or shadow defense. Try any 5-star armor with normal + shadow defense or ancient plate mail instead.
Best tip i can give u is to not ask these mediocre players and go ask someone that could actually give you some tips
@Ourillusion
If he shouldn't listen to mediocre players, then he shouldn't listen to you.
What are your other weapons? I'd use a Heavy sword (GF, DA) along with the BTB. The best thing is practice. You can also watch some SK youtubers for some tips if you wanna.
