So at this point I'm sure we've all seen the "daily rewards" idea thrown around. Wasn't until I was talking to a friend at 2AM that I realized how a daily rewards system could be implemented into Spiral Knights in a natural way.
Thus, instead of having a daily log-on reward, all daily rewards would be tied into completing the daily prestige missions. Basically, for every day a player runs and completes their daily prestige mission, they are granted (bound) rewards. Rewards would be on a 28 day cycle, resetting back to the start after 28 days.
They would still keep to a pattern, however. As such, I would say rewards would look like this:
1. Token > 2. Fire Crystal > 3. Spark of Life > 4. Fire Crystal x 3 > 5. Random Reward > 6. Rarity + Special Token > 7. Special Item
This cycle would repeat every week, but be suited for each player depending on their rank. Champions would be granted radiant fire crystals while knights would be granted glowing fire crystals. Some rewards would be randomized.
Here is how the categories would work:

Tokens: Includes the following items from the "token" category: Primal Spark, Grim Spark, Forge Spark.
Fire crystal: Grants fire crystals of the appropriate rank to the player. x3 grants three times the number of fire crystals granted earlier that week's cycle.
Spark of Life: Grants a single Spark of Life.
Random Reward: Number of possibilities, including: iron lockbox, 10 confetti, slime key, bucket usable items (of all variants, not just the "bucket" ones), guild bonds, slime coins, UV tickets
Rarity: A random rarity, chosen from one of the following: 9 fire crystals of appropriate rank, 1 orb of alchemy of appropriate rank, 15 slime coins, 3 sparks of life, 3 orbs of alchemy of previous rank
Special Token: A single non-expiring token, randomly chosen. Includes: Almirian Seals, Ancient Page, Apocrean Sigil, Bark Module, Forge Spark, Frumious Fang, Grim Spark, Jelly Gem, Krogmo Coin, Primal Spark
Special Item: Item changes every week until the reset. Items and order is as follows: 1UV ticket, Silver Key, Forge Prize Box of proper rank, Shadow Key
If you miss one day, then you reset back to the first day in the cycle. I don't know if the prestige mission needs to be finished the day of or if you can carry over onto the next day. All rewards are bound (yes, even the iron lockbox). All rewards are awarded upon completion of the prestige mission.
TL;DR - Daily rewards that require players to play the daily prestige mission (not danger mission) to get their rewards. Has a 28 day cycle with some nice rewards.
Not necessarily part of the main suggestion, but something else that might be cool - danger missions giving static rewards upon completion. Introduce a "Dangerous Mission Prize Box" that is awarded to players who complete the daily danger mission.
"Dangerous Mission Prize Box" would include the following rewards:
One of the following:- 3-15 fire crystals of appropriate rank
- 1-2 Sparks of Life
- 1 Orb of Alchemy of appropriate rank
- 1-3 Party Flares
- 1-3 Confetti
- 5-10 Golden Slime Coins
- Recon Ranger Crest
An additional 25% chance at one of the following:
An additional >1% chance of the following:
