Greetings, I am just going to post this assuming that everyone knows about this issue but it was never fixed because "reasons". The projectiles spawned from the titular sword collide with walls that are behind your knight. It happens consistently and is really annoying in closed spaces. I really want this to be fixed because the divine avenger is my favorite sword to use and (to my understanding) one of the most popular swords in the game, and it really does suffer from this bug.

Sincerely,

a knight who has been hit many times due to his charge attack being bugged out.

By the way, I know this belongs in bug reports, but it has been there for more than a month now. I want to generate more awareness this way

intentional?

When the game launched, the Divine Avenger charge attack did not have this "bug". The bug was added in an update that nerfed the charge attack somewhat.

The common opinion (or at least my opinion) is that this behavior is intentional. It makes it more difficult to spam a whole room with those huge DA projectiles.

This "bug" has been in the game for a very long time. It has never been fixed despite being mentioned numerous times, the devs are absolutely aware of it. Your best bet is to try and learn where the hitbox starts and try to position yourself so that it doesn't hit the wall.

Of course, were all hoping that Grey Havens is able to see these issues and action them more readily than the previous team, so you never know.

At launch the DA's charge could clip through walls and break blocks, and this became an integral part of the game as no one knew what they were doing yet and so relied heavily on cheese strats. To fix this, they made DA's charge spawn a bit back etc. and in doing so made it get stuck on things. I would like to see them go back and work a bit on it, because the new charge feels buggy and is a huge detriment to the sword.

hmm

The mixmaster weapon suffered the same way, and its charge attack still isn't entirely fixed. If you'd like, you can submit this report through a support ticket. Some long-standing bugs from the Three Rings era have been fixed after the Grey Havens acquisition, so it never hurts to report it through official channels.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Well, I think that this "unexpected behavior" needs to be fixed. It's a good solution, but it's not obvious to the player. Either the effect should make it painfully obvious that it will hit the walls behind you (i.e. make them arc around behind you before zooming forward) or the shots should be as they used to be, and then some other nerf should be used (like making it launch the player forward, giving it a ending lag, etc.).

I personally like the first solution the most because it would look really cool and it would only require an update to the art assets.

- It depends on how you shoot it.
Using the orbit gun for a long time, I've found out that by for example, when shooting the CA straight forward:
1. Aim foward, and charge the gun
2.Press S (down) while shooting it (and maybe shift too, I always press shift without realizing it)
3. From this, you will never shoot less than 3 projectiles :D
The main point is by pressing down on the opposite direction key from where you're shooting it, it'll shoot the projectiles with less chance of it exploding in your face.
(also, if we fix the glitch, we might not be able to do the other glitch (ahem) so I personally wouldn't want it to be fixed :/)

I think that the DA glitch is a total different situation, where the projectiles are too long...
Old players would probably know how strong the hammer used to be, I think it's the same thing.
Heavy weapons can't have too OP charge attacks, that would make it too strong.
So OOO probably made the CA's weak just so that brandish and other weapons would be used by players.
Also, it's a free weapon from JK. What do you expect?
