I wanted to use one of the reset items to change my choices for sprite specialties. (I already have all three unlocked and purchased.) However, I was wondering, do I reset them, do I need to buy more cubes to re-unlock them?

I'm pretty sure that you do not need any extra Evo Catalysts. The wiki page explains that the sprite's level is retained.
I cannot comment on the possible glitch that Autofire mentioned.

Hey guys, just wanted to confirm I was able to get it to work! Despite not being able to feed my sprite regular materials, I was able to use the reset star just fine. Thanks for the responses!

No, you should not need to re-unlock them or buy more Ultimate Evo Catalysts, if I remember correctly. I never used a Reset Star myself, but this is what I've heard.
However, I have heard of a glitch that prevents you from feeding your sprite a Reset Star if you had unlocked every quirk (because you cannot feed them any more items). You may want to double check with someone else before you invest 2000 energy into a star.
If no other players know, ask a GM or something. Heck, even if the glitch still exists, you may be able to have one of them do the reset for you. (After you obtain a Reset Star, anyway.)
