Don't you hate it when you are advertising something in haven but you would rather be playing in a mission or the arcade? This is your solution. The advertisement board is literally just a spot in haven where you post your advertisements IN-GAME instead of on the forums. A lot of people don't go on the forums so this would be getting the word out a lot easier.
Advertisement boards.
Wow now you're just twisting my words. Hey people. Don't twist other words please. I only said for specific suggestions not every single one. Next time don't make false accusations or it could lead to worse than just having someone point it out.
Edit: If you were referring to my sarcastic response to one of the suggestions down there i meant "Apparently that's what GH thinks." Instead of instantly assuming what i mean't even AFTER you asked for clarification try being patient for a response in clarification. Before THIS gets a sarcastic response saying "Then be patient about updates" just don't. They are 2 different situations.
Woah there buddy, no need to over-react to a single comment.
Personally, I'd love for a bulletin board sort of thing that would act more or less like the auction house, but with messages. Sorting for keywords, messages only being available for a limited time, etc. You aren't just limited to merchant items either - you can recruit for your guild, find new friends, request mission help, provide mission support, and more! It would cost a minimal crown fee to post, and perhaps have premium spots for higher prices and longer listing times.
Heck, perhaps the higher your prestige the more features you could unlock on here! It would be a neat way to incorporate a reward system for those invested in the game without taking away the usage of the board from lower prestige players.
Allowing for one of these in a guild hall as a purchasable furnishing would also be very useful for leaving messages for people or the guild.
Most of that is good but the one thing i dont like is the premium part. It would make it so that certain players would be seen much easier than others which i really dont want. Newer players might be completely lost and cant get help and even when they post on the board it would be like "Oh no my post is lost in the sea of premium veterans. Not only would that happen but it would just be yet another thing to pay for. I want the concept of this to be a sort of mini forums in the game so that players dont have to go on the forums and wait for a response without getting many notifications of when it happens. There would be different sections for shopping, asking for help, guild recruitment, etc. but i think we shouldnt put in any sort of extra payment for a higher priority. Were all equals here. No one should have more attention than the other.
If you have no cost and no premiums, then it's just a sea of messages. Without some sort of tier system you end up with the issue of posts being lost.
Premiums would be a limited number of spots with a higher price value. Perhaps one to three 1-week premium spots, ten 6 day premium spots, and fifteen 5 day premium spots. This acts as another crown sink - the auction house does this, the mail system does this. Have it be minimal - 25 to 100 crowns per post is more than reasonable.
The reason this would be fair is that perhaps someone has a largescale message they want to broadcast to the game but simply can't. For example, I've ran community events in the past, and being able to make a posting that everyone sees for a week could have brought in a much larger sum of players. If it was one of hundreds of posts, it would never be seen. Sure, someone is going to use that post to their advantage, but there's always the potential for a limiting factor so that a player cannot own a premium spot of the same category multiple times in a row.
I'd say simply adding "tags" onto posts instead of having separate sections would easily fix up some clutter. That way your posting can show up in several places(ie, "shadow lair" can be mixed with "crafting" or "missions").
1. Okay sorry for that Fallen, I was just "salty" from your complaints on my idea, okay I took the criticism so I apologize for the message.
2. Neat idea my pal Fangel, but you could set like a series of types of posts, like:
"crafting" is for crafting stuff and then-> "materials" for crafting posts (need or sell of materials), "recepts" same with materials.
"gates" is for missions or arcade and then -> "arcade" could be used for asks for groups into different tiers, "missions" could be used for prestige or rank missions, same distinctions between them
and so on, you get the idea
Neat idea @fallen, but you said once that new ideas "not fit the game"
