my dread venom striker has asi vh. I know that vh + med = max. The attack speed bar (when you put the cursor over the weapon) of my dread venom striker is shown to be at the very right end due to the asi vh. vh + med should be max but since the attack speed bar seems to have no more room to increase to the right, would the asi med increase actually increase the attack speed or is the bar beinig at the very right end the limit and asi med would do nothing?

The statistics bars don't have much meaning on weapons. Think of them as an "impression" of what the weapon does.
Yes, each level of ASI, up to +6, increases attack speed, even for DVS and WHB, as the Lancer Knightz data show.
The Lancer Knightz' apparent cap on DVS combos at ASI+5 is probably not real. It's probably a defect/imprecision in the testing methodology.
(If this stuff about caps is new to you, then you might want to read the wiki page "Abilities".)
First of all, the bars are made up statistics at best and blatant lies at most. For an example of such, you can compare the speed bars Gran Faust and Divine Anger. Wildly different, yet they swing the same. It's possible Gran Faust's speed bar is influenced by its abysmal charge speed. On the other hand, ASI increases the speed bar, yet it has no effect on charge speed.
It is known that statistics can exceed the tooltip bars. Both Ironmight Plate and Ancient Plate have defence bars going above the max, but Ancient Plate still has 50% more defence than Ironmight Plate.
Lancer Knights Data shows the combos per minute steadily increasing for DVS for each step of ASI. It doesn't go any further from Ultra to Max, but I attrribute that to the increase just exactly not being enough for one extra combo in a minute.
