So I'm a sword guy. So as you could guess the wolver armor sets are my best friend, but the snarbolax set has been giving me a headache. Its crazy hard to get at, plus your basically wagering your ability to complete the mission twice, against 3,600 energy, 900 if you split it four ways. So my question is how much would it cost to straight up buy? I know it will probably be some crazy amount, and i know i dont have enough yet. But im weighing my options here. I can imagine buying the key, getting a good party, and everyone dying, while i watch 900 energy go up in a puff of smoke.
the two trips are 450 each, getting to ash tail is about 600 without already having the alchemy orbs, and lets say 1 spark is used, 50 energy. 1,100 energy for a single run, each 100 energy is about 9k, so the run costs about 100k. If you pull it off, if you dont then 500 energy went poof. XD you can kinda see why im curious about the straight cost. If anyone knows what a good cost for the armor would be, please let me know.
Snarbolax Armor Set
You can buy 2 Nightmare Manes for craft (~20k each) and join to any SL run for 450ce. Of course you need prepared 4* armor.
I crafted my set as Neueragon advised: buy one material, get the other from the Shadow Lair itself, and craft both armor pieces at the end of that run.
You should also keep in mind that Black Kat and Chaos are arguably even better for swords than Snarbolax. So maybe your goal isn't worth so much of your resources.
If you really want a price check on the Snarbolax set, then change this thread's title to "Price check on Snarbolax set" and move the thread to the Bazaar forum (by editing the original post and choosing that forum from the drop-down menu).
Hey thanks for the info, I didnt know i could buy the Nightmare Manes, that definitely helps out. The shadow run sounds like the best choice, and as for Chaos armor, yeah its great, but i'd still need some shadow armor.
"I can imagine buying the key, getting a good party, and everyone dying, while i watch 900 energy go up in a puff of smoke."
In a good party, this won't happen.
Also, as others have noted... you can also consider doing a different shadow lair. Ice Queen is often considered the easiest (since fire weapons make all the slimes loose all their damage... the first room is just brutal). UFSC is pretty dangerous, but lots of good players still run it for radiant farming (and nets about enough crowns to break even from the cost... if you don't die). I wouldn't recommend RRT, as they are probably the most difficult of the SLs.
So buying the materiel and going to the Ice Queen sounds Easiest. Im assuming shadow and and elemental weapons, and anti freeze and piercing armor. So, Skolver coat and cap, Barb Thorn shield, and a shadow and fire sword would be a good loadout? But the wiki says someone needs shadow clearance level 2, so im assuming id have to party up with someone who already beat the Shadow Snarbolax?
Yes, that is a good loadout.
It would be good for someone in the party to have a gun. There are some turrets that should be attacked from a distance. I hate to say it, but Wildfire might be a good choice.
It might also be nice for someone in the party to have some haze bombs. Ash of Agni can devastate whole rooms.
Yes, you need to partner with someone who has beaten SGWW.
Shadow Lair clearances were removed a while back, so you can do any one of them right away. This should probably be fixed on the wiki.
Thanks, Flowchart. (As I was writing it, a little doubt was picking at my brain...) I have edited the wiki page "Shadow Lair" to make this point explicit.
Thanks guys, the info gives me a much better idea on what i need to do. :) still wil be awhile, need to get all the armor and energy, but thanks.
you dont need to do rabid snarby twice.
make a lvl 10 ash tail set and buy one (if you do the snarby SL) or two (if you do another one) nightmare mane materials. then all you need to do is complete one SL.
but if you really have to buy, a clean snarby set probably costs about 5-6kCE per piece, not much more than other 5* items.
