I am trying to figure out my general equipment, not specialized for any particular level. The question emerges: does normal damage protection on armor give any defense against elemental/shadow/piercing?

For instance: Divine Mantle is shadow/elemental protection, grey feather is normal/elemental. Against piercing damage, is the grey feather stronger? Or does normal damage JUST protect again normal?

Normal defense is protection

Normal defense is protection against normal damage. A large amount of monsters deal only normal damage.

Or part normal, or have a basic normal move and a stronger attributal, like the mecha knights/zombies that swing normal and charge elemental.
