I was rereading over the State of Haven thread, and glanced down to this little note:

Q: Will there be Spiral Knights merchandise?
A: It depends on if players would still be interested and what they’re interested in. Merchandise for a small game company isn’t a large revenue stream. However if it’s something folks would enjoy we can certainly look into it.

I just wanted to bring this back to the player attention and ask the important question of "If we had Spiral Knights merchandise, what in particular would you want to buy?"

I know a little gremlin, snipe, or impostocube plushie would be on my list. Geo knight figurines too!

If you're willing to pay a reasonable amount for it and somehow receive it (possibly at a PO box or someplace that isn't your home, since I don't want/care about your personal info if you care about that) I can knit you whatever you want. Well, most of anything you want. Sock yarn + large = obscene, I don't know how to put zippers on things, stuff like that. Assuming that the GMs are fine with this occurring of course, which I would assume they are since they don't have any official merch and it would be free advertising to some extent.

I freehand knit (no pattern) because I'm lazy and can't count beyond 5 so if you don't like what comes out I'd just keep it and not ask for money or anything. If anyone actually cares enough (I've offered in the past and no takers) you can find me on Discord or reply here or whatever.

A 1:1 replica of a Triglav, and maybe a Torto shield.

In all seriousness, figurines with customizable parts (armor?), much like a "create-your-own-knight" sorta deal; perhaps these could be custom ordered per person at a reasonable cost. Standard mug/shirt/hat/plush/keychain merch is pretty nice too.

I would absolutely love Spiral Knights merch. I don't normally ever buy stuff gaming related (usually because they're kinda expensive), but I would immediately buy something SK related. I think I would want something like a poster or figures. I'm not too into plushies, but if that's what they made I'd still get it. Posters could be of anything, but for figures I would say some armor set or well known npc knights. Maybe some monsters? Idk, but I think a really good idea would be a figure of a Stranger.

While I personally would love a snarby plushie, it's probably not a real possibility. Things like plushies and slippers (zomg what an awesome idea) are fairly difficult to get right and pretty expensive. Things like t-shirts, mugs, stickers, etc are more realistic for a company our size.

It sounds like folks would be interested, so we're looking into doing this. I'm not sure how long it will take, but hopefully there might be some options for the holiday season.

I myself completely agree with what Cronus says. We have to think about these things realistically. Of course making suggestions on what to make is fine, but some things, again, like Cronus said, would probably not be good for the company overall, since the price for making them and the actual amount of people who would buy them would very likely not add up. Things like the t-shirts, mugs, and stickers are much more realistic for GH since the price for making those is quite cheap and getting the models right for them would not be a huge ordeal, considering how easy those items are to make and the popularity that they usually have with many communities. I myself would love to go around sporting merchandise from this game that I love so much, like wearing SK t-shirts around, drinking out of a SK mug each and every day, and putting stickers on my climbing backpack that I where everywhere.

Overall, this would be a nice idea to change up what people can spend their hard earned money towards, and the change would likely be well received by the SK community

Anyway, just my lookout on this interesting prosect.

Thinking smaller isn't too bad! I would be totally up for a pit boss mug (pit boss cosplay anyone?) along with some basic shirt designs, like potentially a spiral order or crimson order symbol on the front of the shirt.

If we're thinking stickers, energy symbol and snipes could be great. Heck, an art contest for adding new stickers to the bunch would be a really cool way to have us be directly involved in the process! ... It's worth a shot.

I'd like to bring up how Rivals of Aether handles its merchandise. They bundle their plushies with DLC (namely, skins). In RoA's case, the easiest way to get some of these skins is exclusively through the plushies. (See the Orcane plush and the in-game skin.)

I don't know exactly how this stacks up in business terms, but it might help encourage those who'd be on the fence about buying some of these things. Maybe those who buy a plush snipe would also get a (bound) Sniped Stranger Hat via a code. Or, if that disturbs the market too much, just throw in a small amount of energy to reward purchasers.

Maybe better rewards could run as a week-long event to encourage early adopters.

Not economically feasible for such a small company to design plushies. A shirt or mug is more realistic. One can make their own art and print it on a shirt or something, I'm sure lawyers won't get involved.

We have to understand that GH is ultimately a company and companies are there to make profit. The demand is very low for SK merchandise.
