The Deep Supply Pack - a new way to grind for Radiants

Here's the idea: Add a new item to Gracken's inventory in Emberlight. I'd call it the Deep Supply Pack.

Here are the specifics of how it works: First off, much like Vitapods, each knight can only carry one at a time, and it is lost if they leave the current expedition. If the knight carries the pack all the way to the Core, they can talk with one of the NPCs there to exchange it for a bounty of Radiant Fire Crystals (that bind on acquisition).

Possible numbers: The pack could cost 5,000 crowns and award different amounts of crystals depending on the selected difficulty — 18 on Normal, 27 on Advanced and 36 on Elite.

I personally think that the decision to relegate Radiant Fire Crystal acquisition to the deepest depths of the Clockworks would have been a brilliant move if it had been balanced properly. My idea here seeks to resolve this issue.

Much support for this idea, I have a something to add maybe you could choose a "larger" pack that costs you double and gives double the amount of rads the normal one gives but in exchange it reduces your movement speed by 1 level (should look like something you carry on your back like crystals)

interesting idea

I would suggest it could increase difficulty a bit by taking up one of your toolbelt slots. Perhaps each pack would only give a third of what you say, but you can hold up to 3. Then after you buy 3, another "tier" of them unlocks. This continues 4 times, potentially filling up your entire toolbelt with items you cannot drop:

Tier 1 - Costs 500 crowns each:
3 Radiant Fire Crystals
6 Shining Fire Crystals
50% chance at a Spark of Life

Tier 2: Costs 1,000 crowns each:
6 Radiant Fire Crystals
9 Shining Fire Crystals
75% Chance at a Spark of Life
50% Chance at an Elite Orb of Alchemy

Tier 3: Costs 1,500 crowns each:
9 Radiant Fire Crystals
12 Shining Fire Crystals
1 Spark of Life
50% Chance at another Spark of Life
75% Chance at an Elite Orb of Alchemy
50% Chance at an Eternal Orb of Alchemy

Tier 4: Costs 2,000 Crowns each:
12 Radiant Fire Crystals
15 Shining Fire Crystals
1 Spark of Life
1 Elite Orb of Alchemy
75% Chance at another Spark of Life
75% Chance at an Eternal Orb of Alchemy

So what this does is you pay 15,000 up front for an ensured 90 radiant fire crystals, 126 shining fire crystals, 3 elite orbs of alchemy, and 6 sparks of life with a bonus chance for more. Heck, that price seems a bit low, but even at 30k crowns 90 radiants is a huge deal. The biggest change in this is that if you take the whole lineup of them, you sacrifice the ability to pick up health pills and remedy capsules, making the actual trek to the core difficult.

If this was balanced with Dreams and Nightmares (assume 20 minutes of time = ~21 radiants, that's about 1.5 hours of time for 84 radiants, about 1000 crowns per run), it could be a new viable way for people to grind for radiants and level up their gear - it would still have an interesting form of difficulty in the way of not being able to use consumables, but that would make the experience worthwhile rather than something that's a given.

Fehzor's post? *Scan for swears, disregard content*

Perhaps Fangel's idea but with harder (still scalable) difficulty at a higher cost with much higher rewards and nothing but radiant fire crystals? Maybe like.. dare I say, create some new enemies or enemy variants for this that are drawn to the supply kits? Maybe make it a team effort such that you can stack difficulty increases among players?

Maybe just put moderate quantities of rads in prize boxes instead of confetti? In addition to confetti?

welp

I'd like forge prize boxes to come with fire crystal confetti that grants everyone nearby 3 fire crystals of the confetti type. Just throwing fire crystals at everyone, it would be a fun thing to do that's essentially free and makes people interact with each other.

Then sell those on the auction house when they first come out and watch people scramble to confetti their friends.
