Prestige mission rewards

I'm kinda stealing this idea from Triplescrew from a thread in general discussion, but nonetheless I'm still posting it.

Prestige missions are basically useless other than a pretty badge so what if when you completed all the daily missions (including the Danger Mission), you get an orb of alchemy or some fire crystals?
Since everyone complains about orbs anyway, this could be a solution.
Or maybe if you complete at least one mission for 5/10 days in a row you get an orb?

I would also like there to be 50% more enemies rather than 50% more hit points. More fun, more interesting, more rewarding.

It's fine to have a bit more health on enemies, but at some point non-dps weapons just get left in the dust.

uh

Did you post that in the wrong topic?

Yes. Unsure how I did that.

I meant of course to reply to this other thread you made.

yeah

Makes sense.
I'll just copy-paste your reply and respond to it on the other thread.

I'd like daily prestige to give 3 fire crystals of your rank, and danger missions to give 15. Orbs are less reliable and honestly should be the rare things, but fire crystals are needed for gear progression and it's more annoying to not be able to level up your gear than it is to not have the orbs for your gear (because at least then you are powerful enough to be able to get orbs).

fair point

I see your point on orbs should be a rarer thing. I also still like the idea of prestige mission "streaks" (e.g. doing a mission each day gives you 3 crystals, then 6, then 9, then 12 etc.). It's sorta like the daily login bonus idea, but it means you actually play the game as well.

I wish there is a way to use prestige as a form of currency, where you attain badge upon reaching a certain number, but you can spend them to redeem cool cosmetics.

Sort of like

My prestige: 75000
Available prestige: 75000

after buying the hat of absolute respect courtesy of meroka. for 50000

My prestige: 75000
Available prestige: 25000

@Midnight-DJ: "I wish there is a way to use prestige as a form of currency"

Well, not as form of currency but rather your prestige should allow you to unlock different things in the game, such as a few missions or even vendors.
For example, if you wanted to buy Meroka's Hat, you'd need 99,999 crowns plus a prestige of 75000. Something like that would add more meaning to prestige itself.

thats a good idea

it would add a reason to do prestige mission to people who already have full prestige and add insentive for people to do them more often.

Kryophyre

I give my full support for Prestige missions giving fire crystals! Especially for the "Supply Delivery", "Geological Survey", and "Monster research" missions! They're literally nothing but resource sinks right now. Adding meaningful rewards to them would make them So Much Better. Heck! For the "Arms Appropriation" missions where you give them Weapons, why not get Alchemy orbs for your trouble?! I'd say that's a pretty sound trade.

Each daily mission should

Each daily mission should have its own "end of mission reward".

Because those Danger ones can really block your cog. Newer players will not be able to get daily reward if it will require Danger mission completition....and that will turn them off.

I also agree with Midnight. Turning prestige into currency is a good idea. That way, prestige is a decent reward, and you can spend it to buy stuff you want.

List of items, that can be purchased with Prestige points, should include Fire crystals and Orbs.

@Triplescrew

If it was per-mission rewards than they'd probably be a fair bit smaller. I was thinking a guaranteed 15-ish or 30-ish fire crystals for all the missions, but if it was per mission it might have to be like 6-9 per mission.

I dont understand why

I dont understand why everyone here thinks that rewards must be so....minimal.

I mean....15 crystals for a DANGER mission that requires at least maxed 4* special set to be reliably completed by an average player without much loss on revives?

Nope. Sorry but thats not a reasonable reward.

Just gonna say that 50 Radiant crystals should cost 150 prestige or less. Otherwise its just too much progression blocking. People quit because of that stuff if you dont know.

Getting 50-60 Rads per day is already pretty slow. Especially considering that you can run dailies only ONCE and that Crystals barely drop in the missions.

To be honest I think a Fire Crystal (of the knight's appropriate rank) per 10 prestige points aquired and 1 Orb of Alchemy (of the knight's appropriate rank) per 100 prestige points aquired is good enough since danger missons aren't the only form of aquiring prestige, there're 90 certain prestige points for a pretty easy mission not counting the free-ish 60-120 prestige aquired from turning in minerals or materials, you can also turn gear you don't use anymore for a lot of prestige points. You don't have to use them as currency as you you don't "spend" them on things that are NESSESARY FOR PROGRESSION, but they can be used to unlock secret items in a new Stranger's shop that can be lcoated in a hidden area somewhere around Haven or the Bazaar. For example, when you have 100 prestige points you'll see the shop empty, when you have 1,000 prestige points you'll see that you're able to purchase an item, when you have 10,000 prestige points more items are unlocked, etc...
