Discord servers are like guilds or protest threads
It seems that everyone wants to start their own, rather than contribute to one already underway.
Or maybe it's really hard to search the Discord servers already out there? Is it?

Well, we can't sticky threads here or bump or any of that so they're mostly spread through people advertising and inviting in game or whatnot. Fangel basically runs the subreddit and has their link posted so they probably have a more active setup than we do.

I mean through Discord itself
I take it that there is no compendium of Discord servers, that can be searched for the phrase "Spiral Knights". Discord is too de-centralized to have such a compendium. Is that right?

That's a good point actually. I've added mine to a couple lists, though it's mildly scary to do so since raiders will come in and post spam.
Google, or DuckDuckGo since I use that, did pop up Fangel's server when I searched as well.

Just assuming
Back a couple years ago the Fangel server (I think Krakob made the thread) was the first Discord server advertisement I've ever seen. Sooooo, I'm just assuming that one was the first and/or largest one there is currently.

Also I need to share this because it's too good- this kid wanted to pilot a bot and was coding it, so I wanted to give him tips and then I just ended up coding it for him. Apparently that's how you motivate me? By doing the fun thing yourself and then I just sort of join in? IDK. Anyway, now there's a kid on our discord piloting Bopp's namesake as a bot for the sake of it.
And just to clarify, yes, everyone knows exactly what's going on here, especially if they scroll up to me telling him how to use said bot.

We created it about two years ago, so if you want a large community already, feel free to check it out. Otherwise, I wish you the best for your new server! :)
I too have a Spiral Knights themed discord family type thing and we're somewhat established. It has varied over time in activity and such.
