Hi everyone!

Just a quick note to let you know that we're aware that the wiki is currently down. Not to worry! It will be back but we do not have an estimate on when just yet. Thanks so much for your patience!

Back up now! Thanks for hanging in there!

Your message looks weird. If something doesn't work and it's part of your job, you have to know what happened at least approximately. You reported that everyone knows.

^ what Bopp said. and an explanation of developer time estimates

@Nemesis + Grey Havens --- Thanks so much for the "hey we know something's wrong, it's not gonna stay that way forever" type message.

@Ogygus --- I'm a software developer myself, and believe me regardless of whether or not your job is to work on a product like the Wiki, there's so many things that can go wrong like processes crashing that support the web portal the wiki is on, or things like network issues that can be elusive and incredibly time consuming to figure out and fix that sometimes you really can't give an estimate on when it will be fixed and often even if you think you know a problem and a fix, it might not really be the problem or the fix. There's also the possibility that they know the fix, but the fix is relying on an external factor that they can't control, so they naturally can't give a good estimate of how long the fix will take. Either way, Nemesis' message was just to say that they're aware of something going on and that it will get fixed. Nemesis didn't give any other details on whether they know the problem or not or what the fix could involve. So, please be mindful of what they could be going through trying to fix this for us with this little bit of insight I've given above, and please be patient for them.

Thank you!

Thank you for letting us know! :D

Also, just as an fyi to anyone searching for info from the wiki in the meantime: the Wayback Machine (web.archive.org or just google it) has the wiki extensively archived.

You can go there, enter wiki.spiralknights.com as your starting point, then navigate the pages on the wiki thru the WM just like you normally would. :)

So, it's down once again. I noticed.

@Nemesis

Will all of our Wiki data about the game still be saved in the midst of it's latest downtime in the whole database? I've done some work on it, & I really hate to see it go up in smoke.

@Shadow-Turtle

Nice of you to share that with us. I don't know what caused the Wiki to go down now, but, I know it's gonna get resolved soon.

Well, what should we do until the Wiki's back up again, besides continue our adventures in Cradle? I have suggestions to anyone to pass the time.

1. Orchestral compositions & rearrangements about Spiral Knights or other games, that is, if interested. Who's up for that?

2. Maybe some pixel art & pixel animations about Spiral Knights, don't know if any have been made yet. May be a good time to do it.

3. More Spiral Knights fan art. I hear Affinity Photo's the best Photoshop alternative, 'cause the price is way more affordable, & requires no subscription, ever. I highly recommend that program to those who are interested. And, Clip Studio Paint does support hand-drawn traditional frame-by-frame animation cels along with art creation, which can be, & may as well be, a very effective alternative to a lotta people that have been using Flash Animation & other programs that do Flash Animation based a lot, & with no subscription model, too! :D! That could be used to make new shows & shorts, & maybe have an influence in the TV, internet, game, & movie animation industry & inspire new animation programs that support those instead of Flash based animation tools! I also recommend that, too.

Who else has suggestions?

I'm still collecting damage numbers for the rest of the weapons, so even if the wiki stays down I'll just put those up separately.

Wish they'd say what the problem was though.
I'd be ok with it if they put recaptcha up so they wouldn't have to rely on a block filter.
