So after reading a handful of guides on JK farming,i had to get my gear prepared, any tips would be welcome on how i can improve my loadout:

Ash Tail set 4*
Dark Thorn Shield 4*/soon Barbarous Thorn Shield 5*
Dread Venom Striker 5*
Silent Nightblade 4*

Striker to keep the JK poisoned and Nightblade to keep JK's minions at the bay with its bonus damage against jellies

Thorn shield for maximum possible damage output

Pretty good.

Well, It kinda depends. You got the weapon part good although faust or GF might be betterinstead of the nightblade line. Dont use the charge attack if you do switch. As for gear, Its good as it is. Whats your IGN? I go on Jelly Runs very frequently. IGN: Bigfootm

Lol

I don't think you can get any better than that, save for getting the 5* equivalents and UV High slime weapons.

A tier of the croma gear, not sure which, gives damage Vs. jellies, i'd go for that. Otherwise, it's great.

P.S. Would a shadow bomb be effective for damage on boss and adds?

Yep, looks good!

This set of weapons and armor is more than sufficient to kill off the JK.

Any 4* or 5* armor and shield would do fine in JK, I rarely bother to bring something that has piercing defense. Also, wearing Chroma gear just for the slime bonus is overkill. Some friends of mine do that, but they already had their main 5* gear crafted and wanted something fun for the JK. Not to mention, you could get Skolver and have Medium vs Everything instead of just Medium vs Slime as the Chroma line offers.

In the levels prior to the JK you'll likely use your Silent Nightblade quite a lot. (And pull out the DVS for the constructs.) For the boss though, you might not have time to switch away from your DVS. If he is invincible/spinning you should be quickly running the other way, if he isn't you should be doing continuous damage with your DVS. Attacking the little guys is somewhat pointless since they respawn. Doing damage to them instead of the JK will just needlessly lengthen the battle.

@Xhosant
The Graviton line has terrible DPS, so wouldn't be great for the JK. The slow walking when charging would get you surrounded and bounded by jellies. Hmm, I should try it just for the lolz, sounds challenging. Also, unlike slimes that take high damage from shadow, the JK is special in that it only takes slightly more damage from shadow.

the graviton wont get u surrounded, its actually useful to get rid of the jellys, just the dmg really does suck and u wont be wasting much time with that bomb else jk is just gona heal up

Grav. Bomb/Vortex

Being a graviton bomb user (leveling to vortex) i can actually say this. At the start i put it in the middle so the jellies get sucked in. Being that I also have a Gran Faust and am almost always with a good they just move past those jellies and start beating up KJ. I repedeatley do that and when i can see/ tell were close to killing KJ, i madly use my charge on my GF. Note: I DO USE MY GF IN BETWEEN BOMB CHARGES AND EXPLOSIONS. So I can say that a Grav Bomb/Vortex is god for KJ beacause jellies arn't swarming KJ.

Faust pretty much ruins any

Faust pretty much ruins any slime's day. Personally I have a Dusker set with curse resist medium on both pieces, Stone Tortoise shield, and a Lv.10 Faust. The shield isn't ideal, but it works.

If you're using this as a guideline of any sort- the above is outdated.

Acheron and the brandishes are much much better than faust and gran faust when it comes to the jelly king.

Dread venom striker is also kind of a joke against the jelly king now, as they've changed the boss fight on multiple occasions.

What Fehzor said.

The Brandishes have much better damage outputs now than the (Gran) Faust on the Royal Jelly, especially the Acheron ever since its buff.

Well, the Dread Venom Striker is certainly a fun weapon to use, but it's not really needed, as the Royal Jelly is kind of a joke now, as are almost all the bosses.

If you want to beat it easily, spam a Brandish charge attack, win, and feel slightly better after hitting something repeatedly.

My record time against Jelly King is some 20 seconds.

Probably less, I just felt like 20 is more realistic than 8. How did I do it? My team and I brought the right gear.

Acherons, Venom Veilers, and Maskeraiths. If you are in a team such as that the Jelly King is more of a giant pink blob made to waste 10 seconds of your life than a joke. But it sure is more of a joke than a boss.

On Elite, I can carry a full party in the Jelly King in some 30 seconds. It's that nerfed and lame. Spam Obsidian Edge charge, finish combo, spam charge, finish combo, wait for 7 seconds of pink rage, repeat if necessary.

How do you have a curse resist?

Cause I heard someone say there was a curse resist, and I have a Faust which hates me. :P What choice of handgun would you take then?

"What choice of handgun would you take then?"

IMO, the best gun for RJP is Biohazard, especially since there's so many enemies clumped together in one place.

"Cause I heard someone say there was a curse resist, and I have a Faust which hates me. :P "

A few armour sets have Curse resistance, and you can get it as a Trinket/Sprite Perk.

Dark Retribution is also OP there, especially if you can drop a couple at once

Gunning the Jelly King

Volcanic pepperbox and umbra driver are the best handguns for dealing with the royal jelly. Magma driver/biohazard are also decent options, but aren't as effective-- biohazard's slow moving derp is easily absorbed into other enemies that don't immediately die and require further effort while magma driver has trouble dealing damage quickly enough. Umbra driver/magma driver's charge hits several dozen times if pulled off correctly, and can work similarly to acheron for massive damage. Volcanic pepperbox's charge and normal hits are both good, though I'd use the charge over the normal much of the time.

Obsidian carbine and Sentenza are great options as well, but that kind of defeats the purpose. To get them to work for the boss fight, use the charge to deal major damage as the bird/tentacle bird pierces through.

I would definitely go for a volcanic pepperbox. That thing obliterates the jelly king.
