Speed boost or dash pads for long hallways and arenas, like in Mario Kart

The pads would be a tile or entity that, when stepped on, would either make the knight dash (without consuming their dash) in the direction they're pointing, or would simply give the knight and potentially enemies a large amount of knockback in that direction.

This would be good design for 2 reasons-

1) SK has a lot of hallways that require a massive amount of running to get through. This is needed for SK since positioning arenas for spawning algorithms is very important, but could be helped out a ton via the boost pads. Instead of the knight taking 20 years to backtrack, there would be tiles at the sides of the hallways that would send the knight instantly where they want to go, and make the game much slicker.

2.) New arenas and areas could be designed quite simply with these tiles. The knight wouldn't be able to walk backwards through them, and traps could be positioned accordingly to either catch the knight if they're up or not. Enemies could also make use of these tiles if they utilized knockback, which would make for some interesting areas and really mix things up so that SK doesn't feel as stale. Lockdown maps could also use them to empower guardian and recon.

Good idea

I think this can be a great idea for LD. And for PvE I suggest it to be in just the scarlet fortress or maybe the new content Coronus talked about in the other thread.

This is a solution to a problem with the game as a whole not just scarlet fortress. Clockwork tunnels and dreams and nightmares are the big ones that need this but really every hallway in the game should have it.

The way I imagine this is like the move and walk at the airport- one strip on either side of each hallway going each direction, such that the player can dash about anywhere.

ummm...

This can make MSI obsolete... You don't want that... Also this will make places like Dreams and Nightmares less of a challenge and will become boring also it will make MSD less of a debuff which isn't fair IMO for the "less tanky" players so I think this should be limited to a few places especially places with lots of hallways (AKA: Scarlet Fortress)

Your points are bad and I don't want you to comment on my suggestions any more if all you're going to do is tell me that players should be paying hundreds of dollars and only going about 10% faster so that the game's hallways are a slightly smaller issue after you tell me that we shouldn't be paying for buffs. We've all been through the phase of why-isn't-the-suggestion-viable and you know what I'm done with it and it sucks ok? Learn to play nice. Please.

uh

"This can make MSI obsolete..."
Actually, MSI will probably be used for dodging enemy attacks and speedruns without killing everything (just like now). It's just that the game would waste less of your time. Which is a good thing!

Sorry Fehzor I think you

Sorry Fehzor I think you misunderstood me. By MSI I don't mean exclusively black kat the the jelly MSI trinkets. There's also mercurial and mercurial demo sets as well as the sprite perks which are all sources of MSI and if you implement this idea which makes you generally faster you'd rather go with defense instead of MSI always and people would just stop using MSI and exchange it for defense or health or damage (unless you're wearing a black kat set of course). I agree this would be an interesting thing to add to the game but it will change the balance of items. I will no longer comment on your suggestions from now on... Sorry if I was annoying.
