So I got banned 24 hours, my last report coming from some dude, so what I did was basically annoy him through and referencing memes, yet I didnt use any bad slurs etc on him, when you click on complain to complain on someone, select the option annoyed it says you must ignore the person, not complain on, so whats the point of this topic? The complain thing is easy to exploit, which can result in bans of people who didnt really do anything.. I didnt get banned just from one report obviously, but the last one was unfair and crooked, and like imagine what happens when someone just wants a person out of the game, they tell their guild to complain on him, and the person gets banned, thats pretty easy to do, so why not make complaining proof-requiring, like a screenshot of the person spamming or saying different offensive slurs.. This is lame Gray havens, one dude joins my Vana run, gets annoyed by my and when I try to confront him about it he reports me and I get banned .. really?
Spiral Knights ban policies
Submitting a complaint sends various logs to the Game Masters, who will take action based upon if the report matches up with the logs. Your ban likely fall under one of their ban-able offenses. If you don't do something ban-able, you won't be banned (unless the logs point to suspicious activity).
24 hour bans aren't too much to be worried about. You can be banned an infinite amount of times for poor behavior without being permanently banned from what I've seen, but past bans do have an affect on future appeals, and may result in harsher punishment depending on the behavior.
You're free to appeal the bans through the email Legobuild provided, however with a small support team your ban time is likely to expire before the appeal is looked over and all the paperwork is gone over.
(NOTE: this is mostly just information I've accumulated from observations and watching people who like to 'live dangerously' within Spiral Knights, so don't take my word as the 100% truth for how things work behind the scenes)
Gonna laugh first, I got banned in-game for 2 days because I responded to this thread. Funnier, I can still post here all I want. I'm going to contain my anger to myself and express the reasons through that support ticket I have sent. The ban I received in game was completely unwarranted as I did not breach the TOS. Anyway, here:

It says to not discuss bans on forums. You are doing exactly that.
Profanity is not allowed here, just say post rather than s_ _tpost.
You can mail the support staff, and hopefully you bring a strong enough case to appeal the ban, or just deal with it. Lock the party next time. I won't go to a debate club on things I don't like and I won't enter someone else's house and report their speech because I feel offended. I don't think your actions warrant a ban, but it probably falls under the "harassment" label. Why didn't you just kick that person?

Sadly this isn't the place to discuss bans. Those are between you and the GM's. You are welcome to submit an email to support@spiralknights.com if you feel it was unjust. It being a 24 hour ban, think of it as a warning from them. They will also give you a short message as to the reasoning when you try logging in.
All bans are reviewed by GM's, so simply because someone reported you doesn't mean an action will necessarily happen. Evidence of something against the ToS result in ban actions.
Not taking sides, but in the end, you are ultimately the one who decides what you type/do in the game, whatever someone else does is on them, think wisely before acting.
