Handgun line: Gravigun
Combat style: Catalyzer?
The basic 2* Gravigun basically sets up what the rest of the line looks and feels like. Basic attack is a crescent-shaped projectile/"pulse" in a 3-round clip, with an 8-tile range and a projectile speed identical to that Blaster line that deals split Normal and Shadow damage. Upon suscessfully connecting with a monster, the projectile deals a small amount of negative knockback, about 3/4ths of a standard Valiance bullet's normal knockback, and causes a single, faint purple ring resembling the halo accessory to appear around said momster, similar to a Catylzer's orbiting rounds. Subsequent hits with the basic attack before the ring expires (10-15 seconds) will cause the ring to turn a deeper, more visible shade of purple with a brighter glow, giving an indication of the charge attack's effect.
The Gravigun's charge attack resembles a larger, significantly faster version of the basic attack's projectile model, and will deal a small amount of normal damage to a monster as well as a large amount of positive (outward) knockback, equivalent to a Valiance charge, without any "rings" from basic attacks placed down on the monster beforehand. A single ring will increase the knockback of the charge by a set amount, as well as inflicting damage on the knockbacked monster upon striking a wall, block, edge of level tile, or another monster (the latter damages both monsters equally). Additional rings placed by basic attacks on the monster struck by the attacks increase knockback as well as damage dealt upon collision with solid entities/other monsters by a linear amount, allowing for fun strategies where a Gravigun wielder pulls a single mob from a pack with the basic atk's negative KB, pumps it full of gravity inversion rings, and sends it flying back at its fellow monsters like a sentient, angry cannonball.
No split damage. It's what makes brandishes so OP.
