Enemy Attacks Hitting Before Animations Complete

Not really sure if this is a bug or just how the game is supposed to work, but it's an issue I've seen in this game since I first started playing 8 or so years ago. I'm wondering if others have been having the same experience where monster attacks and traps will hit my knight seemingly half a second before the animations or fast moving projectiles complete their courses. I've come to get used to shielding waaaay before attacks should hit me, but it's still frustrating none the less.

With devilites especially their projectiles affect my knight from about "this" --------------------- distance. Long before the actual projectile can visibly make contact. Lumbers, Mecha Knights, and Grievers will land their attacks almost immediately upon the attack marker appearing rather than when their attack animations would suggest. Rocket turrets, Howlitzer Skull Missiles, and Zombie Jump Attacks (Normal attacks are fine) are also on my list of offenders.

This could possibly just be my internet, but I can play other online games without issue so I thought I'd drop a line here. And most other enemies function the way that I would call normal. Slimes, Beasts, and most turrets make fair connections.

I didn't put this in "support" or "technical issues" cause I guess I'm more curious if others have this experience as well or if it's just me.

Yeah happens to me when

Yeah happens to me when playing on the USA server.
Probably just some server lag as Ziulux said.

agree

I noticed a big chance in this behavior sometime around 2013, particularly in shielding. Suddenly I had to shield much earlier to block attacks, and shield-cancelling got a bit messed up too. Presumably it is latency to the server.

I first started playing 8 or so years ago

If that's true, then you started playing deep in the beta, at least a year before the game officially launched.

I guess what's most confusing is that it's a consistent state and that some monsters work normally and some don't.
