They're weak.

They deal weak normal damage, have no ranged attack like status jellies (either shooting spines or ground spikes), etc. Okay, I get that, it's a blast cube, it's special. However, don't really know if you guys find the "blast" or explosion from the jellies' deaths really a threat or hurts much. I sure don't. I guess the damage is not that weak, but they (the jellies' waste droppings) are so easy to dodge. One could as easily as to just sit by the purple thing and wait for the counter, get the loot and run away. Surely, that's not how an angry "explosive" works.

Suggestions (different suggestions, not combined):
-Make it have a random, 50/50 chance of exploding like Tier 1 Blast Cubes upon detonation and destroy those snuggling close to the sticky purple goo. (Not very hu... err knightitarian, I know), or to drop out those droppings.
-Allow the droppings to follow the closest, unsuspecting knight and give him what he deserves.
-Becomes red like Tier 2, and is like a mini-Jelly King gone berserk. Does large twirl (the attack that it does, not like... a dance or something)

Just another idea.

hmm

I kinda feel like T2 and T3 blast cubes need to have the same explosion as the T1 blast cubes AND the jelly thingies. Maybe the T3 jelly thingies can have the 3x3 explosion like an explosive block? Right now they're so predictable and the explosion is so tiny that it's utterly inconsequential. Maybe the T3 jelly things spread out much further so they're a threat in a larger area, and have a larger explosion radius (like I mentioned before).

They're balanced as they are

They're balanced as they are acting as hazards rather than actual enemies. They also usually appear in groups it'd be chaos if they were to get buffed.

Probably never happened, but I have memories of Blast Cubes once causing damage on initial detonation.
It's probably the reason I still don't walk near them when I kill them.

@Ze-Epik I agree. I forgot to mention the Tier 2 versions hehe. And yeah I do agree with the whole explosion radius thing, I was just afraid that it would become too large and basically become like a whole nitronome, but the 3x3 explosion should work.

@Geo-Senpai They ARE meant to be hazards. However, hazards aren't really hazards if they don't pose a threat and are too predictable imo. See, spikes and those status traps are predictable, but they don't allow you to escape so easily (like dashing through them without getting one bit of damage for instance). I mean, imagine howlitzers' heads just blowing up without flying. Not very interesting. And honestly, except for Ice Queen SL or danger rooms (which are supposed to be chaos), I haven't seen more than 4 or 5 blast cubes around together in the clockworks. But thinking about it, it would have to be implemented in a way that they are not OP.

@Cinoa Yes, the Tier 1 Blast Cubes do blow up like a bomb upon detonation, just not the later tiers.

yes pls

I'd like the tier 3 blast cubes to explode like tier 1 blast cubes with the explosives tossed around as well. It honestly just makes sense while making them dangerous like they ought to be.

Either that or give them a minor vortex like function on death.

I will mention, however, that blast cubes are a "special" type of slime. Meaning, they have no actual spawn replacements, and only spawn exactly where they're told to spawn. If they could spawn, let's say, in place of a normal jelly cube, that would make them more interesting.

Maybe if they had an attack

Maybe if they had an attack that launched an exploded slime ball they'd be better, since they're already almost never seen compared to normal slimes, I'd like them to be a lil hard to defeat, but ofc this attack would be used scarcely and not every attack/every other attack or only if they have a considerable range from you
