Because anytime there's an announcement, 90% of the time I feel like he's trying to sell me something.
Why can't we just sit down and talk about the weather or our feelings?

Of the 42 announcements this year, 22 of them are ads. That's 52%.
I still feel like they want to sell me something.
If they respond, everyone start talking in captcha code so they can't understand us.
Bots are starting to get better at solving captchas than humans now. I'm not sure that's a good idea.
Ok I hear you louder than anyone else, they're trying to sell us boxes without much reason to buy them, but entertaining this notion of hate is frowned upon by the staff for a reason so you should probably just not. It's called "constructive criticism" and not "raw hatred" because it builds upon the object being critiqued rather than tearing it down.
Who would've guessed that a forum admin would post announcements about how to spend money on the game they're supporting. It's almost like that's what the announcements subforum has always been for. 👻
I think I get where paintool's coming from. For a lot of us who follow other games, or even just projects and events, copy and paste responses are off putting. It rings familiarly and coldly with me of the seemingly sudden and irrational shutdown of megaman legends 3. A personal childhood favorite claimed to lack feedback and community support. . . But that is off subject.
We all should remain aware by now that a FREE game does need to make money somehow.
So, I am going to restate Fehzors-Forum-Alt's statement about avoiding fear and distrust, and focusing on constructive criticism and trying to innovate NEW ways to help improve the game. Original ideas, inspirations from popular, or better yet deeply cherished games in the world. Elaborate, explain, share, find weaknesses in our ideas and share them, ask for help on concepts, and innovate improvements and compromises. Not all of us understand the difficulties of coding, and engineering new mechanics in games. Many of us (My self included on this) do not fully fathom the difficulty of managing a game financially and legally, especially as a company, or a team working under a company, and even the law it self.
The only concern really should be whether or not they can expand to better methods of collecting player transactions, rather than hinging all player progression almost solely on real world currency. Very few games keep any whole hearted admiration when they entirely depend on on people paying out of pocket just to experience the game continually.
By expanding on the game in ways that aren't available currently, perhaps we all can insure some way that the game still makes money, while allowing it to be playable. Money is a factor in a free to play game, especially one so emense and detailed.
In the end they are selling us something. What we need to do is figure out what we can offer to help sell it better. Among many other things, but this is one that high on the list of necessities rather then just adding more items to collect.

P.S.
"Why cant we just sit down and talk about the weather or our feelings?" Is an awesome response Paintool. Really. It should have equal standing with the games finances from players rather than operating off of a thin line of one sided transactions and highly classified minimalistic small talk. I think that was your point to begin with right?
.. I wish Cronus was a bot; less likely to find my lunch missing from the fridge due to him being peckish...
Why can't we just sit down and talk about the weather or our feelings?
It is too hot here today and this makes me grumpy =_=
I have pinned a solution for your first situation.
Have you also considered cracking open a water hydrant to make a fountain in the street? Come to think of it, do Devilites also resort to this during heat strikes?
Our lord and saviour Cronus' rival has appeared here?!
You see if Cronus was a bot then he's be working for Hera's robot army. That's a pretty easy way to find that answer.
I'm gonna save Cronus time to reply with this... no. He's not. He's a real person. He only gives out new info when the time is right.
