I am curious about what armor and weapon you guys use to reach Vanguard rank.
i use skolver set , voltedge ( when T2 lockdown still exist) , and Barb Thorn Shield to reach vanguard
and did anyone use cobalt set to reach vanguard ?

Holy shit. The old icons. The old UI. The old revive system. You cant do this to me, dude. I miss it so much.
Back in the day I used Skelly set. Id say it was not the worst choice considering it has shadow protection, which is both what Citadel is all about and I had a hard time against devilites so it helped me. but I never use it nowdays.
The weapon was Obsidian Edge, which is a great marvel and my unparalleled and generally preferred go-to in case of trouble. Though Gran Faust is not too far behind on that category.
The reason to use Cobalt set is that the recipes are handed to you for free. Thats a considerable amount of money saved. I know I did this when I made an alt and am pretty sure other people in a similar situation did that too.
The real thing players absolutely avoid is the Calibur line... seriously, whoever has a non-reskinned Leviathan Blade?

My old Cobalt times
I did use cobalt line to reach Vanguard rank (long time ago). Vanaduke was a pain.
Well.. things were different when I reached T3 and started playing there. There wasn't any vanguard rank or anything, chaos only had damage low, no black kat, no gunner update, argent peacemaker was split piercing / elemental, harder monsters, no battle sprites, no operation crimson hammer... the game has came a long way.

Argent Peacemaker
Dread Venom Striker
Gran Faust
Divine Avenger
...and then.. well.. I did this. And I've certainly kept it up since then as well.
