Old player VS new items

Just woke up after a long nap and I see you can't revive someone using half your health now instead requiring an expensive item, more expensive new crafting/leveling materials, and there's now pets. Which require said expensive new materials.

I did all the missions years ago but now I see those new items listed as rewards. Am I screwed?

You'd have to ask the GMs about that, when they did that update they mailed the items to all the players that had completed those missions, but don't know if they'll resend it.

Thanks, that's what I did.

They answered and said they can't reset my mission progress but probably didn't read it so gonna try again. Just want those expensive items that I would've had if I did no missions and waited for this update.

hello

I would like to note that when the missions updated I got everything accept gear. So you might not get items like the skelly set but you should get thinks like recipes and materials.

So... Yee

Should but didn't, here was the very disappointing GM response:

Atropos - Feb 08 at 8:49pm:
Greetings,

When we updated those missions, a mail was sent out to everyone who had already completed them, containing the extra rewards. Unfortunately, like all mail, if not collected within thirty days of being sent, they were deleted. I'm sorry to say that it's not possible to resend them or to provide the items they contained manually.

Would be different if it were some limited time event item but these are vital parts of new content that cost thousands of energy, which all new players get for free on completion. So basically if you are old and took a break you are screwed. Too much a burden on their part to care about sleeping knights and save an extra pittance of data on their servers in unread mail more than 30 days.

for what it's worth

In the original post, you are talking about the "battle sprite update" of 2013-07-30. It introduced major changes into the economy. Some made the game easier (free elevators, orbs of alchemy, one free revival per level), while others made the game harder (only one free revival per level, fire crystals --- especially after drop rates were decreased).

Were you 5-star in the old days? If so, then at least you got to heat some 5-star items before the scarcity of Radiant Fire Crystals made that so much more difficult. Maybe that's a little consolation. Sorry to hear of your other troubles.

game's more F2P now at least

The good news is that these "expensive items" cost the same or less than what they were in the olden days. Crafting costs the same, however there's simply an extra step in-between (you get an item for crafting, which you can find for free as well by playing). Revivals cost a flat 50 energy now, unless you prepare yourself and pay 200 energy for 10 revivals. These can also be found by playing the game.

You can now play the game infinitely, so the fact that there is some farming involved to get these items is not unexpected.

The only items that require you to purchase them from the supply depot are battle sprite upgrade materials. Luckily the time it takes for you to get a battle sprite to these checkpoints takes a really long time, so hopefully you have the resources at that point to purchase the item you need.
