I propose a mechanic wherein Devilites afflicted with Sleep can be woken up by any available Pit Bosses with dialogue pertaining to "sleeping on the job"...maybe demotions from Overtimer/Yesman to Devilite?

This is so silly, I love it. The turning into gorgos thing would be better, as it turns a sleeping devilite into a pretty huge threat if a pitboss is around.
Either this, or they can be turned into fire overtimers, like the old "fired" thing that pitbosses would do.
I find it both good and bad as it's a very interesting and fun idea but in the same time it'll reduce the effectiveness of maybe the only area-denial weapon that works well with fiends which is Torpor Tantrum. I think maybe a good idea to balance this out is to make sleeping Devilites to turn into Gorgos of their respectful status variant without waking them up if they're found by their Pit Bosses.
@Zero-Chill My dark briar barrage would like to have a word with you. It area denies their life.
Also the Pit Bosses would be asleep as well, so I don't think that there will be any problems for the Torpor Tantrum.

What about a small chance of them turning into gorgos after being waked more than once?
As in:
Lazy Devilites turn into Gorgos, as the Release Notes 2013-05-01 patch states, "For those that don't work hard every day will eventually become a terrible Gorgo".
