I recently got back into Sk, (old school vet). And I made a post of selling my mixmaster, got some results on how much it will go for nowadays, from discords, Reddit, other old vets. The average was about 220k CE. I was looking at the CE market and was a shock that the rate is about 8.6kcr per 100. Got me thinking. Would I help the economy if I rather sell the gun for CR instead? So that whoever is the buyer, would have to trade his/her CE into CR if they don't have enough CR already? Is that a good idea? Don't really know how economics work. Someone fill me in if I'm taking the wrong approach
A 2nd Opinion, on how to approach this
Thanks for the response. It was just a thought I had, guess I'll think about it more. Nice to see your name again man.
Dropping CE prices means that players with less than half a mil CR/CE will be able to get their hands on large amounts of the stuff. If you manipulate the market that way, money will change hands more, even for a little bit. That's not to say the price won't stay roughly the same, but availability will increase.
Up to you, though.
If you do that it's going to change the price of energy for a bit since we're talking about roughly 2200 transactions... this also changes the value of your weapon. The first energy will go for whatever, and then less and less..... as a result, you will make less money off of selling the mixer, just so that you can "help the market".
In the grand scheme of things, obtaining E or cr won't really make a difference. Requesting that they convert all down to cr may make a brief fluctuation in the market, but a week or two will stabilize it back to some form of normalcy. The last flash sale, a mixmaster went up on the featured auctions and the energy prices dropped pretty cheap because multiple people were bidding. It was down below 5kcrn/100E for a handful of minutes right at the end, but took less than an hour to get back up above 7kcrn/100E. The supply/demand balance just likes to sit around 8.3kcrn/100E as of recent with minor fluctuations.
Ultimately, if you plan on using that exchanged currency... your choice of having the initial transaction will ultimately make no difference in how it impacts the market. If you want to temporarily make it cost less crowns to trade for energy, gamble it all away on slime boxes (using crowns to buy the keys) or UVs. I'd venture to guess that most players wont actually see anything because there are still plenty of knights that play the energy market stock game.
