We've had the same weapons for a long time now, all we've gotten are new variants. Here are some of my ideas.
Laser Gun Line
The 2* version will be obtained from twins and the recipes from basil. Laser gun line's basic attack will pierce through 2 enemies before disappearing. It's charge attack will prevent the player from moving and will fire a laser just like the twins, it will pierce infinitely and last about 3 seconds. Has elemental shock, elemental fire, and elemental ice variants
Oiler Line
The 2* recipe is obtained by completing compound 42. The rest of the recipes are from Basil. Oiler line's basic attack will shoot a glob of oil which will splatter into 1-3 oil puddles on the ground. The charge attack will ignite the oil burning it for about 3 seconds. Dealing damage over time and dealing status.
Burst Bomb Line
Recipes Found in Hall of Heroes. These bombs on detonation will release a brandish charge attack in all 4 cardinal directions. Basically the blast network bomb. Has pure elemental and pure shadow variants.
Energy Sword Line
Recipes Found in Hall of Heroes. 3 hit combo Energy Swords release a small explosion when they hit an enemy. Allowing for area damage. Their charge attack releases all of the energy at once, resulting in a big explosion with very high damage. Very slow charge time however. Has Normal stun, elemental Shock, and Shadow Sleep variants.
That's all I've got so far.
I actually really like these. They aren't too outlandish and have enough style to them to change how some of the game is played, while still being open ended enough for balancing.
Any unique methods for the 3-hit energy sword to hit its targets? We have calibur and brandish lines with a pretty basic attack pattern, and spur with a unique but similar pattern. Would this sword have a new animation? If so, how wide of an area do you imagine it having?
