New Weapon Ideas

We've had the same weapons for a long time now, all we've gotten are new variants. Here are some of my ideas.

Laser Gun Line
The 2* version will be obtained from twins and the recipes from basil. Laser gun line's basic attack will pierce through 2 enemies before disappearing. It's charge attack will prevent the player from moving and will fire a laser just like the twins, it will pierce infinitely and last about 3 seconds. Has elemental shock, elemental fire, and elemental ice variants

Oiler Line
The 2* recipe is obtained by completing compound 42. The rest of the recipes are from Basil. Oiler line's basic attack will shoot a glob of oil which will splatter into 1-3 oil puddles on the ground. The charge attack will ignite the oil burning it for about 3 seconds. Dealing damage over time and dealing status.

Burst Bomb Line
Recipes Found in Hall of Heroes. These bombs on detonation will release a brandish charge attack in all 4 cardinal directions. Basically the blast network bomb. Has pure elemental and pure shadow variants.

Energy Sword Line
Recipes Found in Hall of Heroes. 3 hit combo Energy Swords release a small explosion when they hit an enemy. Allowing for area damage. Their charge attack releases all of the energy at once, resulting in a big explosion with very high damage. Very slow charge time however. Has Normal stun, elemental Shock, and Shadow Sleep variants.

That's all I've got so far.

I actually really like these. They aren't too outlandish and have enough style to them to change how some of the game is played, while still being open ended enough for balancing.

Any unique methods for the 3-hit energy sword to hit its targets? We have calibur and brandish lines with a pretty basic attack pattern, and spur with a unique but similar pattern. Would this sword have a new animation? If so, how wide of an area do you imagine it having?

Considering the specifics Golden detailed, I'd imagine that it would hit like a Flourish-Troika hybrid; long reach and wide arc to fully optimize it towards area damage, but no stabs like a real flourish and fairly slower too.

That aside, I'm not sure how well an ice variant of the laser gun would work out - with the basic attack it could have potential, but the charge-attack would probably just break the ice repeatedly via multiple hits.

I like the idea of offering a new weapon type for completing a danger mission.

-How does the Oiler gun's charge attack work? Is it just a Blaster-esque fireball or something else? What about a flamethrower? That would be awesome!

-@Falminar About the Laser gun, I imagine it would continuously inflict freeze with each hit, although I don't know how plausible it would be.

Overall, I like these ideas.

Burst Bomb = <3

Wish to get this awesome bomb if it ever gets implanted. Finally an elemental damage bomb. I've got a question though, would it pierce through tiles and the mini slimes found in RJP or would it work like a brandish charge and stop when reaching a tipe or a mini slime? Also why not give it 8 directions instead of 4? Maybe at 5* it increases? I think this would basically act like the RSS but won't go over gaps and can even cause more DPS to individual monsters due to the knockback enabling it to take the full damage in a given direction. Can it have status variants as well? Shock, fire and freeze for elemental and plain and poison for shadow would be great to match the Brandish-line swords. There should be a pierce damage variant that pierces through enemies rather than knocking them back as well (just bring the RSS back and remove the stun for balance).This is my favorite idea out of all your ideas. #MAKE_BOMBING_GREAT_AGAIN

My thoughts on the other weapons:

1. Laser Gun: Much like the blitz, a bit unrealistic but still a great idea, don't prefer it to have freeze though to match SL RT. Also what's the maximum range?

2. Oiler Gun: Basically a new Catalyzer with a more interesting style as you don't actually need to aim with it on an enemy but on the ground, it should cause strong fire otherwise people would just use Ash of Agni, I suppose the oil spots can be ignited by any fire source, not just the gun, would be pretty annoying for parties but I love the concept and it'll allow strategic play to be more fun setting up fire traps.

3. Energy Sword: Might be interesting, but TBH it's my least favorite of your ideas. Because it's not balanced well enough, sleep is OP, I don't think more than one weapon should have it (Torpor Tantrum). Might be more balanced if it didn't have the explosions on the standard combo and had the same speed as Fang of Vog. This would basically make a Fang of Vog with Trioka-line charge.
