SInce you need at least Elite Orbs to be able to craft a 4 star thing, to then be able to use the Eternal Orbs, a recipe to craft Eternal Orbs down to Elite Orbs would be helpful.
There is already someting like this for Fire Crystals.
You should be able to buy the recipe from a Vendor IMO, not get it in a mission.
Maybe a recipe to craft Advanced Orbs from Elite Orbs would be okay, too.

This would also be a chance to add the two currently useless minerals to the recipe. For example it could be 100 Crowns + 100 Monstone + 100 Valestone + 2 Eternal Orbs to craft one Elite Orb.

It should be the same for orbs, as well as being able to upgrade them at the expense of them being rarer. This would apply for both orbs and fire crystals.

I'm personally against this for the reason that you only need 3 orbs to craft something, and their prices are more than fair in energy.

On the flip side, buying fire crystals is expensive, and you need a lot of them, meaning downcrafting them is fine.

The only time downcrafting orbs would be applicable would be if you used like, many more times the required amount of orbs. 12 eternals for 3 elites, for example. Not doing this will make the end-game much worse as you'll only ever have to farm FSC for everything. Making players seek out lower levels is a good bit of game design, and if it was not expensive to downcraft orbs it would heavily devalue playing earlier levels for those resources and helping lower leveled knights out.
