just asking around, what are the unique variants everyones got? and on what weapon/ armour. i think iv got a few prismatechs with +shadow damage and a skelly mask with +freeze def. but my best one is on my nitronome(gremlin offender) with +ultra vs gremlins.
unique variants
Firotech Alchemer -> Undead damage bonus: high (now Magma Driver)
Blitz Needle -> Construct damage bonus: high (gun puppies are a joke)
Cutter -> Slime damage bonus: ultra (now Wild Hunting Blade and shredding everything)
Aegis -> Piercing defense bonus: ultra (hard to say it there is a difference considering both power meters are pegged at max [bug?])
The damage bonus uniques are very potent. With my bonuses and play style even Danger Rooms pose little challenge.
I have a winmillion with Ultra charge bonus, but i'm not sure whether that's just normal?
Shadowtech Alchemer Mk II: Increased damage to fiends
Icebreaker Helm: Increased defense against Curse (moderate)
Silvermail: Increased defense against Curse
Prismatech Alchemer Mk II: Increased damage to slimes (low)
Strange how most of the variants I did receive shared the same theme as darkness D: It was only yesterday when I got a non-evil-themed variant - one that is potentially useful, too! Danger rooms, prepare for increased demolition!
I complained about having virtually useless variants before yesterday. Someone on the forums told me that my Silvermail can be potentially useful once SK releases monsters that inflict Curse on you ^^
I do a lot of crafting for other people, so I've seen (and then sold) a lot of unique variants. In general, any weapon can have one of the following two basic possibilities; each possibility varies in size and target:
- Attack speed bonus (low --> ultra), OR,
- Damage bonus vs [construct, gremlin, fiend, beast, slime], [low--> ultra] - pick one family and one boost size
Each armor can have:
- Bonus damage protection from [normal, piercing, elemental, shadow]: [low --> ultra]- pick one damage type and one boost size
- Bonus status resistance against [ stun, freeze, sleep, poison, fire, cold, shock]: [low---> ultra]- pick one damage type and one boost size
For example, a striker can have "attack speed increased: high" or "bonus damage vs beasts: moderate", but not both. A wolver cap can have "bonus protection vs shadow: moderate" or "bonus freeze resistance: low". These bonuses appear apart from, and are not affected by, other bonuses that come with the normal item.
As for armor, the unique variants range from "hilariously useless" to "wow, that would be noticeable if I were in tier 1". Boosts to status resistance are slightly more useful than boosts to damage protection; this is because the scale for values of status resistance is much smaller. (25 points of shadow protection would barely nudge the stat bar, whereas 25 points of stun resistance would be quite a lot)
I just got my first two unique variants, both one right after another, today.
One was moderate piercing defense in my Angelic Raiment, which was transferred to my Seraphic Mail, and the other was low piercing defense in my Wolver Cap, which I transferred to my Dusker Cap.
How exciting. :P
Fallen Helm: Resist to shock: Moderate (10)
Voltech Alchemer Mk2: Increased damage vs slimes: High
I think that's it
Argent Peacemaker's Unique Variant
Attack Speed Increased: High.
Not very useful because the AP is already very fast ._.
Vlad, unique variants are random. 5 unique argent peacemakers could have 5 different variant bonuses.
Heavy Demo Suit: Increased Fire resistance: Moderate
Dread Venom Striker - Attack Speed Increased: Ultra
Cutter - Increased Damage vs Fiend: Low
Cutter: Attack Speed Increased: High
Wild Hunting Blade - Increased Damage vs Construct: High
Winmillon - Increased Damage vs Undead: High
Magma Driver - Charge Time Reduction: Moderate
Voltech Alchmer Mk II - Increased Damage vs Gremlin: Moderate
Fiery Vaporizer - Increased Damage vs Gremlin: Low
Haze Bomb - Charge Time Reduction: Low
Gunslinger hat - Increased Curse Resistance: Low
Chroma Suit - Increased Shock Resistance: Ultra
Magic Cloak - Increased Stun Resistance: Moderate
Spiral Demo Suit - Increased Shadow Defense: Ultra
Drake Scale Shield - Increased Shadow Defense: Moderate
Yup thats all my variants for now...
Today I created a gun with the "Charge Time reduction: Low" bonus. Since most guns already get a bonus at level 5, it appears that these bonuses can repeat or expand upon the existing bonuses of a weapon.
Haze bomb "Increased Damage vs Gremlin: Ultra" Yay!
Searing Edge - Increased Damage vs Construct: Low
weee?
Defender - Moderate Defense Increase VS Elemental
Defender - Moderate Defense Increase VS Shadow
Lol I got these variants one after the other
Haze Bomb x 3:
-Bonus Damage to Undead: Moderate
-Bonus Damage to Gremlin: Moderate
-Bonus Damage to Beast: Moderate
Got those out of about 20 Haze Bomb creations, I believe.
There's a new page on the wiki detailing the possible unique variants. One thing that we're missing is a good estimate on the probability of crafting one. If people are mass-crafting haze bombs, perhaps we can keep track, pool our data, and get the best possible estimate?
We can mass-craft the cheaper armors/weapons, like Emberbreak Armors.
If acquiring unique variants also depend on the star level of the crafted item, that could be added into the Wiki, too.
I got Ultra Piercing defence on my Seraphic Helm.
A whopping 25 points of protection from a practically non-existent damage type.
