Greetings, honourable knights!

Chawkthree SK has recently released a new video with a nice suggestion. Ye all know the Super Brawl Mode? No? Not all? Well, it is understandable, as the information about it has been lost in the deepest levels of The Internet. This game mode had existed around 2011, not for long, actually, and before the Lockdown.

As for now we don't have much material about it, other than this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2_wtqnRR8k (Back when GA and GF were actually useful :P)

As I mentioned earlier, Chawkthree SK suggests a new old idea about reviving this old gamemode and bringing it back to the game. You would say that Grey Heavens don't have resources to make another new mode with some new mechanics, but they are not required! It is a simple PVP, without those wretched and questionable classes (Striker, Recon, Guardian). You only need your sword and shield. That is it.

Moreover, some Knights claim that they have seen abandoned data files of this Super Brawl Mode, and if their claims are true, then it would be easy for GH to restrore it into the game.

More in the original video!

P.S.: Apologies for my crude english.

Bumpin' it up

Well, looks like this topic could use some discussion and explanation of the idea of returning the Super Brawl gamemode.

Some people may call Super Brawl too simple (hence that's why it got removed in favour of Lockdown), but I won't agree that this is a bad thing. Even more, it is beautiful in its simplicity! It can be a relaxing and balanced gamemode, best for both vanguards and developing knights.

Unlike Lockdown, in Super Brawl there are no "classes", which force you to completely change your way of fighting and style, and there are no control points or bases. It is a survival arena, where all you can rely on is your trusty sword, shield and general agility and speed, with which you were defeating monsters deep in Clockworks. No Modifiers, no Invisibility, no Speed, no Giant Shields. Simple yet brutal battle, which can be called "realistic" in a sense, that you are still fighting your enemies using your gear, just like if you were fighting monsters underground. This part is important because it can develop skills of other players and their agility, while in Lockdown battle is so different from Clockworks one, that you have to adapt to a new area and mechanics, which is hard when you get constantly beaten by scarred veterans of Coliseum (Hello Jempire!)

According to the video above, it was quite possible for a rookie knight to kill experienced vanguard, as the health of all knights only depended on their armor, and all weapons dealt devastating damage, being able to defeat anyone in 2-3 hits. And most importantly, it is hard to avoid it. You don't have increased speed of a Striker, you can't run away or quickly run into face of a Knight and pierce him with Flourish. YOU HAD TO FIGHT! AND EVERY HIT WAS IMPORTANT!

In Conclusion, I want to say that the new Super Brawl can be simple and enjoyable gamemode for all knights, while Lockdown is already dominated by veterans, who know all mechanics of it and just destroy new players with their speed of Striker kits and best weapons. Of course, they can still come to Super Brawl with their best gear and rares Unique Variants in new gamemode and start fighting there, but in that case everyone will have a chance to win in SUPER BRAWL!

What can we do to make it enjoyable? We can make it active all time, like Advanced Training Hall, so that everyone could enter it and develop their skills for any time they want. Of course, we can make some rewards for defeating other enemies, like 5-10 crowns for each defeated knight or a group of knights (but not very high, so that Lockdown could be populated too).
But of course, that is all up for discussion.

somewhat

The big issue with bringing back Super Brawl in its current state is the fact that, back in the day, we didn't have as many overpowered resources. Today, the same people who are ruling Lockdown as strikers can rule Super Brawl. Why is this? Because max damage bonuses plus a myriad of gun buffs would turn Super Brawl into an arena of guns, not weapons.

Without a speed boost or invisibility, how are you supposed to get the jump on someone with max damage and a minimum of high ASI who is shooting bullets at you without you being able to take the hits properly? You can shield and walk towards them, but they are not shielding so they can outrun your approach. Lag would create inconsistencies much like in Lockdown, and with a constant barrage of bullets the only way to counter them is to use bullets of your own.

Super Brawl in the past didn't favor guns since swords were much more powerful and guns only filled certain niches (ie, antiguas were the go-to). Now-a-days, health trinketed black kat players will outrun you, kill you faster, and will probably be using swiftstrike buckler to attack faster than you. While it may seem like Lockdown is less balanced than Super Brawl, in today's game, Lockdown would easily be more balanced.

I had an idea not too long ago about bringing back Super Brawl in a new way. It would be an unannounced rotational event and would give all participants a specific loadout. From there, all players would fight it out in these loadouts for 3 minutes, after which the "gamemode" is changed and everyone respawns with different loadouts, and continue the fight from there.
