This post is designed as an example-
First, a new weapon: Purifier
Once used to test and eradicate diseases among edible goods, this device now eradicates your enemies, regardless of disease.
When placed, purifier (a bomb) creates the equivalent of a gremlin healing circle... except it damages enemies and lights them on fire. The circle (with a medical symbol inside of it) glows white, then red when enemies step in it. Due to it's nature, this bomb has a longer than average charge time. Slow to set up, high damage, all is well. Damage type = elemental.
This is balanced with ash of agni via long charge time, a lessened chance of fire, steady damage inside the ring, and a smaller area of effect. The bomb is foremost a damaging weapon.
Now here's where the fun starts...
Occasionally however (1/1000), mecha knights won't take damage from this weapon. Instead, the circle will glow green when they are inside of it, and nothing will happen. Sparing this mecha knight, i.e. some trigger relies on them and them alone, such as a gate or next wave, will result in them becoming a friendly mecha knight, and, once killed (by the enemies), dropping an AI component as a material.
Artificial Intelligence
Should the knight take that AI component to Bosco, the knight working on a mecha knight in haven, they will receive a mecha knight kit... but as a trinket. This trinket awards the player one mecha knight kit (the consumable) each time they go down the elevator, and provides the player with global attack speed low as well as HP +2.
I think trinkets that involve consumables would be a nice addition to the game. Wouldn't be that hard to program either. I like the idea of the mecha knight kit.
Here's an idea.
By using the purifier on a Gremlin mender they will have a small chance to drop medicinal supplies. The circle will turn green if it happens. You can then take the medicinal supplies to Bosco to craft a First Aid Kit(trinket). This trinket will grant the player the ability to revive a fallen player once per floor no sparks necessary . You will also gain health bonus +3 and Poison Resist High.
