I suggest removing the upkeep for guild halls. The game doesn't really have enough players to support all but a few active guilds that are wiling to pay that much for upkeep. The default also prevents guilds from inviting new members, which further limits guild activity.
remove the upkeep for guild halls
They actually decreased the upkeep a fair bit a while ago, so you can have a reasonably sized hall without upkeep (both the 1st floor wings). And as Zero-Chill pointed out, the upkeep acts as a crown sink: it's essentially trying to stop crowns from becoming completely worthless by continually taking them out of the game's economy (which, to be completely honest, is also what Punch does :P).
The upkeep is really low,i dont believe it prevents guilds for inviting new members. If the upkeep was like in the past sure I would agree on decreasing it,like they did it,for the same reason you speak. The upkeep is low no reason to remove it.It acts as a crownsink even if its small.
Maximum upkeep for a guild right now is 40,000 crowns. That's like, one vana run with guildies a week. That's more than reasonable, and a single person can achieve that many crowns in a day or two without much problem.
Perhaps giving more interesting things to guildhalls would work though, like being able to unlock a slime casino room. I know I'd love to have something like that.
A Slime Casino room would be completely useless. Slime Casino contributes absolutely nothing to the game. What we need to boost activity in the game are better PvP, such as 1v1 duels. Rebalancing of OP gear such as the Chaos set, and UP gear such as Plate gear. Giving Bomber weapons a basic attack. And making a mission creator, so people can make their own missions for others to play. (Doing Vans runs over and over gets too repetitive).
While the downside to having an upkeep is that it can be hard to keep a guild, especially if it used to be big or medium sized and now is pretty dead, and dead guilds contribute to at least not making those people in one wanting to leave, to lose interest in the game.
But at the same time, it also essentially forces people to more active guilds, which can be positive. Because actually having guildmates to play with and talk to makes the game more fun.
But as I said, some people (like me) stay in their guilds out of nostalgia, and slightly lose interest because of not having guildmates. Very torn on this question, and also on the question on whether I should try to revive my guild now that I'm once more trying to play the game. (22k weekly fee and like spotting 2 others a couple times the couple weeks I've been back).
I kinda agree and disagree...
Removing the upkeep would make people less motivated to farm for it which can lead to many people just standing at haven all the time. It also acts as a crown sink like punch and the slime casino and removing it can lead to energy prices going up since players will have more crowns laying around. However, that might encourage creating more guilds which can lead to more activity in the game, so it's kind of a double-edged sword if you ask me.
