This challenge requires you to record your game play and change custom controls!

You are a confused Squire once again! For this event you will be playing the rank mission Blades of the Fallen under 3-2. You will play it on elite difficulty. You are only to wear up to 1* items! This means nothing higher than 1* armor, helm, shield, and weapons. You are only to use 2 weapon slots, even if you have 4. No trinkets may be used. No sprites may be used. Droppable item usage during the level are allowed (vials, health/remedy capsules, vita pods). If you'd like to get things in the lobby from the merchant, that's fine. You must change your custom controls to the following: "Move Fwd: S", "Move Back: W", "Move Left: D", "Move Right: A", your move north/south/west/east should be unmapped from the wasd keys. Your time will start once you pass through the force field in the level depth and your time will end when you get on the elevator at the end of the level. While you are in the lobby or before exiting the force field to the level, please go to the inspect screen of your knight and show the recording what items you have equipped. You must also show your custom controls screen. There will be prizes for different play styles as noted below. Upload the video either to our form link above, youtube, or another hosting service and post the link below with your entry. We may show your entries live on stream!

If you do not have a program to record your game play, i'd recommend using OBS Studio: https://obsproject.com/

An example video of how to setup your custom controls is located here at the beginning: https://youtu.be/jqtgDD8JRVw

nice idea

It's a nice idea, to confuse the player's controls as a way of simulating newbieness.

It reminds me of psychology experiments, in which participants wear glasses that cause the world to appear as its mirror reflection. They adjust surprisingly quickly.

Yes!

I'll join! My ingame name is Flipsmash, my twitch name is Motorjam

quick question, I already use left mouse button for move forward, so could I use that or should I unbind it?

You'll have to unbind that,

You'll have to unbind that, the idea behind this challenge is to confuse your brain. You'll be using your mouse to aim direction, but using the keyboard to actually tell your knight to move certain directions, which will be switched around.

yes please

Love the idea!

A few questions, though:
Are we required to kill all the enemies?
Is Prototype Rocket Hammer allowed? It might take away from the purpose of inverted controls as it gives you an indirect means of moving toward your mouse.

You're not required to kill

You're not required to kill any enemies unless it prevents you from getting to the end elevator. You bring up a good point with the prototype rocket hammer, i'm going to say it is not allowed for the sake of making the challenge remain more difficult~

sounds fun!

I may be in for this one! Seems simple enough - just one question that I'm curious about for us youtube folks: so long as the footage is the full gameplay, that's all that required? I'm curious if I can add some editing into the mix for comedic effect (zooms, sound effects, etc) so long as it's not intrusive on the heart of the challenge.

I know you have the final say, but seeing as I'm currently editing a different SK video on and off right now I'm in the editing mindset.

I have no problems with

I have no problems with adding some zooms or sound effect parts as long as the footage is continuous. (just keep the run going at normal game speed, no speeding it up or down or cutting frames/screens, that will put more work on reviewing it, or could introduce other variables)

Update:

I have changed my name, I was Flipsmash but I'm now Motorjam in SK and on twitch. My submission on the Google Forms says Flipsmash, just letting you know that my knight's name is changed.
