if the devs made other sets more viable to gameplay, i think they'd see a rise in the amount of players, player retention, and energy spent because we'd need more energy for more sets and that's what this game is about, collecting the perfect set for different encounters. RN it's very limited to what is good and something should really be done to buff ALL the sets that aren't seeing play.

There are a number of things the developers would need to do to get the game off the ground and this is one of them. The others are things like ending the story in a positive way, having regular content updates (i.e. hiring a level designer or finding the time themselves), reducing the relatively high pricing scheme they've chosen, balancing swords and bombs with guns in terms of diversity, power, etc.
Rather than go down this path they have made it very clear that they are content with their tiny dwindling community and aren't going to be giving us more than old fixed up content and bug fixes. I'm sorry for your loss.
...And move this to suggestions, posting your garbage in general is unbecoming.

Yes I know was radical, was my example I agre with you mercurial with med its okay was just an example to balanced this game but if we dont test it, we can't know if this is a good change or its excesive but we know all this game its black kat-chaos :'(

Yes my friend thats why we should spam the forum because they always ignore our suggestions...

Buffing Azure Guardian in that way would just make it a duplicate wolver set.
"Buffing" Dragon Scale with a chance of inflicting fire on receiving damage would be counterproductive. Its main purpose is as a specialized set for Compound 42, which is full of Toxoils, which you need to avoid lighting on fire.
In general, giving any armor a chance to inflict a status that it provides resistance against wouldn't help much, because that resistance makes it best used against enemies that are immune to receiving that status anyway.
Giving the Black Kat Cowl a Very High global damage buff (Maximum for swords), movement speed and attack speed after just four enemy kills (which is very easy to do almost anywhere) will not exactly reduce the prevalence of Black Kat gear.

Note: for this very suggestion I did also create a new topic in the suggestion section here:
https://forums.spiralknights.com/de/node/121205
---------------------------------------------------------
One old suggestion that did float around for along time would be fallowing:
. . . Player Created Levels
By allowing players to create a level and publish it for testing, other players could rate this up. The highest rated levels will then undergo a check from Grey Heavens. If approved, then this Specific level would make it inside a Special Player-made-Levels-Gate where we only encounter levels that have been created by players.
To avoid obvious abuse and exploits, nobody will be able to gain any heat or coins or materials during testing levels. Those final levels that made it inside the special Gate will drop crowns and heat normally of course.
. . . Additional suggestion: Voting for a player's level will requie a very small amount of Moon- and Valestone.
Technically, Greay Heaven would need to implement a Level Editor or a program that allows us to do this outside of the game.
I do know that Grey Heaven's previous answer included the issue of randomly generated level pieces that differ from a whole static level setup. But even for this problem there is a solution!
A certain other game (Trove) allows the generation of player made dungeons inside a voxel world. A player firstly has to create a dungeon with a different program. Inside this program he can add different jigsaw pieces and mark specific points where one piece can connect to another.
Example:
So lets say a dungeon has one entrance A, a middle layer B and one Boss room C.
Then a player could make only one jigsaw piece A for the entrance and one jigsaw piece C for the boss room, but multiple jigsaw pieces B that can all connect A and C.
In the end there could be
-jigsaw piece A
-jigsaw piece B-1
-jigsaw piece B-2
-jigsaw piece B-3
-jigsaw piece C
The player needs to add certain key points that determine where exactly piece A will hit one of the B pieces and vice versa. And of course the same interaction between all B pieces and the C piece.
Going back to Spiral Knights, it could look like this:
We can create multiple jigsaw pieces and add connection tiles on the pathes where players can exit this specific jigsaw piece. We also would need to make a checkbox if a jigsaw piece needs to have another jigsaw piece before that will provide a key.
Furthermore it needs to be categorized so that a certain piece only appears around other pieces. Or in other words: we dont want a frost wolver grass tile aside a fire devility town tile (do we?)
For referance, this a video of someone making and explaining things with that other game:

and here also a longer video of another guy:

because of topics like this they will continue to ignore suggestions. Basically it is like a present box which you open and see inside only a bunch of useless disappointment (reminds of some box-promos, eshkere!11)

"Mercurial helm/mail: Movement Speed Increased High"
-You really like the Mercurial set don't you? If Merc helm/mail would get a buff then Demo Mercurial set would also need a buff, which sounds kinda sweet actually. But medium would be enough imo.
"Chaos cowl/cloak (nerf): Chargue Time Reduction med, Damage Bonus low"
-Lets nerf the Chaos set for no reason. Chaos counters its med ctr/dmg bonus with negative status resistances similar to that of the Black Kat set. Also remember that this nerf will affect PVE and probably make some people quit playing.
"Divine veil/mantle: status resist sleep maxium, Damage Bonus med"
-While I would like the sleep status to be included on the set, the medium damage bonus would just make that set so OP. Lets just say the Divine set had it uses pre-sleep update and if GH used your suggestion for its buff it'll just be the end of LD.
"Dragon scale Helm/Mail: Bonus Damage Low, Attack Speed Increased low *New* Probability of burning the enemy on having attacked or to receive melee hits !"
-Lets nerf its only use for C42 and see where it goes from there.
"Irongmight Plate Helm/Mail: Health bonus +6 *New* You receive 10 % less damage."
-This looks alright as it would replace Ancient Plate Mail's use for anti-acheron sets and make these sort of sets easier to access.
"Skolver/Snarby cap/coat: Bonus Damage med (Swords) , Attack Speed Increased low (Swords)."
-I like this suggestion as VH ASI Swords and Guns are expensive and hard to come by these days so no one would need to complain about ASI anymore.
"Black Kat Cowl: Movement Speed Increased low (Deleted), Bonus Damage Medium (Swords) *NEW* When you kill an enemy you gain rage of the black kat Maxium x4"
-Lets nerf the BKC for PVP but forget that it's also used for PVE. Goodbye end-game players

A set can have the worse defense ever, yet people gonna use them because of it's bonuses, not caring about defense. It isn't really countering much... on paper it does sound balanced but as you can see this is the current result, filled of chaos and bk ignoring every other set, except for very few occasions due to status immunities or whatever. The bonuses are just too strong of chaos and black kat.
Imo, make them EVEN MORE weaker, which involve in adding ALL the statuses malus and raising the quantity of malus. OR, simply nerfing the bonuses they offer. Even tho nerfing bk would be a shame, it's the only set in the game that allows you to maximize every single bonus in the game, and by doing so it's hella expensive, so please don't touch bk bonuses, instead nerf even more it's defense, so while being strong, you really gotta be careful while using it. Right now it doesn't feel THAT weak, everyone just uses it without issues.
Chaos it's stupidly strong while being super easy to craft. Also in this case the bonuses can stay the same to not kill loadouts but makes it more weaker, just like bk. Nerfing by "med" the damage of the chaos is also cool, since it forces you to add that medium via trinket or any other way (giving also a bit of more purpose to the monster damages, currently useless because obsolete).
If people really doesn't want the bonuses to be touched, then the defense is the way to go, at least it requires you to play smarter, otherwise it simply results in you dying instantly. That's a thing I want from the chaos and bk, strong yes but REALLY weak, it's like a punishment if you want strong bonuses. A real one, not these current stats.
So I fully support nerfing in a way or another the chaos and black kat set, and tbh buffing some other sets that currently nobody uses except as costume. Take in consideration shadow lair gears. The Arcana Salamander, the Almirian, the Ice queen, and few others out of shadow lair's category, harder to craft compared to hall of heroes, yet useless.
- I'm gonna throw in a quick fix for the almirian, which in this case aims more into pve than pvp: Fire isn't a malus anymore but a resistance just like the curse, plus they are buffed to reach the same amount of all the other gears (take for example the vog cub), so already like this you can do vana and SL vana without burning like a torch, and less seconds with curse. Both helmet and armor got Medium or High damage to Undeads and Fiends. You won't maximize your bonuses like you would do with a bk or a chaos, but you still do lot of damage yet keeping a great defense. It focuses on vana missions basically, since you craft it by doing sl vana. It isn't broken at all, instead it sounds useful for pve and mostly vana missions.
That's it, quick easy balance for this piece of gear. Even if you wouldn't use this, you must admit it is more useful than before, WAY more useful.
-Another quick fix, take the skelly set, all of jelly set and few others, and apply monster bonuses to them. Yes, it's JUST monster bonuses, but at least they have something! ... Something!!! Right now they are... useless, no real reason for using them seriously, they lack of any kind of bonus, slow asi, low damage, slow charge... you know. At least give me a bit of damage to one or two enemies. Either very high or maximum damage as result of wearing those full sets. Jelly set ofc gonna have slime damages and skelly either undead or fiend. They are hall of heroes sets anyway, and focusing more on defense than bonuses. Again, right now, they are just useless in so many cases. Make armors great again! ... or make armors great for the first time ever. Sounds better.
Yes, ALL OF THIS is a lot of work and I doubt any of these ideas suggested in this thread gonna happens, unless grey havens step up and value more spiral knights. I'm anyway all in for balancing stuff properly and, kinda off-topic but not even too much, making lockdown less c@ncer.

Token bonuses like tacking on random monster families won't fix most armors... The rule for every armor should be that it changes how you can play the game, like the offensive armors already do, or even just a few situations, like Dragon Scale in c42. So all bonuses should be carefully considered for how they help do that... Mercurial could have its MSI amped and also get some kind of ASI to make it feel fast. All of the Plate sets should let you play like a tank and shake off small attacks along with a fair damage amp, Volcanic Plate even letting you freely walk through Fire traps, all in exchange for a little less speed or higher charge time. These things are all intricate but not hugely demanding to make happen.
I think this is radical, while I do agree that the other sets aside from Chaos and Black kat need a desperate buff this is over the top. A simple change in some to buff defence capacities would be great because rn the game only favours offence
for example I think mercurial mail MSI high is too much, should be med only
the wolver set should be the only thing that gives sword dmg medium
the plate mail sets just need to have msi redux and asi redux removed
all the other sets aside from chaos BK wolver should either get defence buffs or have asi low and dmg low for some weapon type.
I don't want it to look like im disagreeing with you because i think less needs to be done, but something needs to be done for sure to balance the unused sets.
