+1 Weapon/Trinket Slot By Default?

So uh, nevermind the 'players are leaving the game because', or the 'new players can't get into the game because'.

I realized that every time I want to come back to this game, the idea of having to cough up money just to use my loadout turns me away again.

If there's anyone else in the same position, I think this small change would go a long way towards simply letting mid- and long-term players enjoy Spiral Knights again, without first having to set aside ten bucks or a few hours' grinding.

Seems like a slim chance with how the rest of the suggestions are faring here, but I figured I'd pass by anyway. Thanks to Grey Havens for keeping the game afloat.

Agreed. Whenever I log onto this game to play a couple LD games I find I need 4 damned slots every time.

Yeah they should've added permanent trinket slots for 4-5k energy or something per slot (2-3 years worth of regular slot) and permanent weapon slots for a similar price (6-8k energy) 5 years ago. Regular trinket/weapon slots aim to keep the returning player playing by some sort of sunk cost fallacy ("you invested 800 energy, now you have to play for 30 days") rather than believing the game is fun to play with others and banking on the fact that if players return, the enjoyment they get out of it is more than enough to keep them around for a while. (And for returning veterans, the enjoyment is in fact the only thing that has any chance whatsoever to keep them around)

i agree with permanent

i agree with permanent trink/weapon slots, maybe a 5% drop out of a box or available during flash sale or something

currently tho, i stock up on 60 days worth of trink/weap slots as a backup buffer for exactly this reason
