I think the largest and most likely danger is that the developers call it a day and throw in the towel with regards to weapon balance. The wand itself behaves relatively well though could still use some work, but more over there are a lot of weapon lines that see a lot more use that could use some serious effort.

-Catalyzers desperately need tinkering

-Pulsar is strong in lockdown but rather poor in PvE

-Argent peacemaker is now completely outclassed by the wand... but it kind of already was bad?

-Sword balance is kind of a mess:
---Acheron = Gran Faust's damage???
---Amputator and CIV have garbage damage, balanced with Levi???
---Levi does NOT have anywhere near Acheron's damage vs neutral enemies???

I could go on but the point stands. Please, developers, continue. You did well with the owlite wand. The only thing I would change, and this is highly optional, would be to remove the charge and have the wand just shoot the stream of bullets when the mouse is held.

Wand still needs some fix

Tnx for fixing the wand but there are still some problems that I found out recently.

1.) Wand doesn't benefit from handgun bonuses, only from universal bonuses.
2.) Still cannot cancel the animation by shielding / or you cannot pull out the shield quick to block incoming strikes.
3.) I still think it needs a little more attackspeed.

More balance!

I strongly encourage the devs to keep working on weapon balancing. I understand that it can be difficult, but I think having a wider selection of viable weapons would breath a lot of life into the game. The wands are a good example. The way they are right now is a pretty solid balance with the Drivers. Slower attack speed but easier and more reliable, faster charge time speed but a clunky charge release. Not too different, but enough alterations to give the wands interesting gameplay that doesn't overpower Drivers or feel too different to the point of being exclusive.

There are loads of weapons / armors that need a good fixing like the wands. Buffs, nerfs, maybe redesigned functions such as with weapons like Catalyzers. It would take a while, but even if the balance patches came slowly yet steadily it would eventually put the game on a much better path.

- Shard bombs need to double hit to do roughly the amount of damage that nitronome does. Nitro does its damage much more easily in a much larger area.i
- Haunted Haze still does single-digit damage
- Mad Bomber is severely outclassed by Chaos
- Azure Guardian and Almiridan Crusader are not good armour sets.
- Mercurial Jelly is blatantly inferiour to Mercurial Demo
- Suda/Triglav are both slower and weaker than sealed swords.
- Seraphinx' undead/fiend bonus laser does barely any more damage than disintegrator beam which gets its bonus damage against all 6 enemy types and also buffs ally attacks. If not using the correct damage type, damage is actually lower.

None of this needsa a lot of work to fix. A damage boost here, a trivial bugfix there. It would be counterproductive to fix it all at once, but if we saw steady patches just trying something, it'd be a big encouragement.

It's hard to argue against these fixes. I mean, they wouldn't suddenly bring lots of new players to the game, but they'd please veterans plenty. So the easier ones should be attempted.

My possibly last suggestion for the wand (ofc its not the last)

Its nice that they fix the wand's bug. This might be probably, maybe, possibly, perhaps my possibly last suggestions for the wand.
Similar to Winmillion's charge attack, we should be able to adjust our aim during the short pause before throwing the projectile. Or might be better if we can still move during the short pause.

I also have a wierd suggestion which might be cool for a wand. What if its charge attack is similar to Sealed sword, would summon a magic circle that would do a minor dmg and inflict random statuses, but with a larger AoE... this won't make the wand OP and P2W, but this might compensate for its poor and unreliable normal attacks.

I know alot of ppls noticed that I'm too obsessed with the wand, or maybe I'm just fooling myself to think about it.
Well its because I love alchemer family weapons.
I don't want it to become superior to alchemers, but I also don't want it to be easily replaced by the alchemers either...

If you compare the two:

  • Shady is has a less dangerous weakness
  • Provides an extra bonus
  • Is considerably easier to acquire

Kat Eye Raiment has become Mad Bomber 2.0, except Mad Bomber used to be good.
