What if the Wrench Wand was cool?

I was staring blankly at my arsenal and thinking about nothing when I realized: What if the Wrench Wand was like the Owlite Wand?

My thoughts were along the line of:
- The Wrench Wand is a regular sword with a three-swing basic. The first two swings do not prohibit movement and don't use the same animation.
- The third swing (as usual) has a lunge and inflicts more damage.
- Its charge remains the same. Thrust the wand forwards, inflicting damage and knockback and shooting a projectile that does additional damage.

At higher star levels, it:
- Shoots projectiles with its basics, similar to Winmillion.
-The projectiles deal more damage than the swing, which itself has low knockback and its third hit may induce flinching.
- The third swing's projectile is slightly stronger.
- Killing an enemy with Wrench Wand projectiles (or dealing sufficient damage to an enemy with them) leaves behind an aura which lightly heals players that stand in it or ticks statuses like a haze bomb or some other effect.

The idea, ultimately, would be another projectile-sword like Winmillion, that focuses more on safe usage and a support role over Winmillion's (intended) damage and speed.

(Additional possibilities: remove Wrench Wand's construct damage bonus, buff it to 3*, name its 5* variant Spanner Staff)

I'm in favour of making things cool. Would the charge attack still knock enemies sideways?

Knockback

Probably not? I think knocking enemies directly away from you would make more sense.

I wish the owlite wand would work like that, cuz even with those fixes... owlite wand is still gimmicky, even when compared to omega tortofist.
What I want on owlite wand is to make it a support weapon instead of dps weapon by making the charge attack similar to sealed sword, but have larger AoE and slightly longer duration.

What if the 5* wrench wand's charge attack would summon a magic circle similar to T3 menders?
Ppls that steps on the magic circle would have status debuffs (fire/shock/etc.) completely remove and would heal 1% hp/second in 5 seconds.

But I think to balance this, charge time would be slower than brandishes and it would root the user in place, also effects wouldn't stack. (If the player steps on another magic circle while he still have the effects, the new magic circle wouldn't have any effect on him)

No such thing as a free lunch.

See the thing is, you really can't balance free healing. Freely conjuring magic healing circles is a no-no. This is why I said:

"Killing an enemy with Wrench Wand projectiles (or dealing sufficient damage to an enemy with them) leaves behind an aura which lightly heals players that stand in it or ticks statuses like a haze bomb or some other effect."

The idea being you'd have to actually attack and use the Wrench Wand in battle to reap the benefits of its usage, whether that's generating a minor healing rune or a rune that sets enemies on fire (for example).

More thoughts

So after trying to figure out how to make it work, I've decided healing is just a bad idea. There's no good way to make it work.
That aside, I've put some more specific thoughts into variants etc

So there are three variants (names etc below), a normal variant which summons a DoT rune, a piercing variant with a freeze rune, and an elemental variant with a poison rune. I picked the variants for diversity (and because I like freeze). The wrench wands are still swords, which allows them to act as nice sidearms for swordies.
(If you have better ideas for names feel free to suggest them.)

2* Wrench Wand
- Normal damage
- Behaves like described above.

3* Arcane Wrench Wand
- Normal damage
- Swings shoot projectiles
- Charge bullet produces short lasting DoT rune on hit

4* Raze Wrench
- Straight upgrade from Arcane Wrench Wand
- Rune lasts longer

5* Mageclaw Staff
- Straight upgrade from Raze Wrench
- Rune is bigger and lasts longer

4* Rime Wrench
- Piercing damage
- Rune lasts longer
- Rune DoT is much weaker, bullet damage is reduced
- Rune and bullets have a good chance of moderate freeze

5* Gelidfang Staff
- Straight upgrade from Rime Wrench
- Rune is bigger and lasts longer

4* Rancor Wrench
- Elemental damage
- Rune lasts longer
- Rune DoT is much weaker, bullet damage is reduced
- Rune and bullets have a good chance of moderate poison

5* Noxmane Staff
- Elemental damage
- Rune is bigger and lasts longer

Definitely a no from me, I'd rather have the current iteration where it knocks things sideways purely because of the sideways momentum. I'm all for a five star wrench, it just needs that sideways momentum baby.
