Old Nickelodeon MMO? Closed down in September of 2014? Played as Monkeys fighting the evil forces of Ka? Ring a bell, anyone?

I actually heard about this game from the forums there. After it closed down I tried to hop right into this game, but I was too young at the time. But here I am now~

Ah yes, Monkey Quest. Another nice MMO with the likes of other MMOs I played, such as Legend Online, Free Realms or others. I remember playing, but then I forgot. It really sucks they closed it down.

That raises a question, is Free Realms still alive or has it been annihilated by time as well?

Free Realms shut down before Monkey Quest shut down, I can safely say already been annihilated by the time. I kinda figured that game didn't last long, because Nickelodeon's business perspectives always change very fast as well as art styles to different media. The potential that game had was pretty much ignored in the very short years it was up, and the shutdown placed all later plans to keep it growing were washed away.

Don't entrust these kind of big-time television bigwigs to harbor MMOs, they already have too much on their plate to even carry on support of one MMO. One minute they hold the potential, the next, they waste it all to make newer innovations to later generations believed to forcefully push our kind to discarding past methods they think is obsolete already, E.G, everything all-stream only to life over physical media to everywhere and cable TV.

I apologize, but with everything that's allegedly shaping many industries that made people think it's still way too soon to give in, I kinda feel we shouldn't give up physical media at all just because companies attempt to encourage people to phase out everything traditional to make way for everything streaming and subscription-based to everything in our lives that some say it will be the only way to enjoy at all, which always has negative drawbacks, in reality, to remind you. Don't need to say an example, but you can imagine several.

I mean, certain fields that made their processes streamlined via digital technology, animation, sound, art, so on, I've been OK with it, but, there are certain methods that should be best kept alive for countless centuries.

Who would want a life where we have to watch a movie, play games without hardware, create, and do work, all at a subscribed based price, even to try to make a living with our families & relatives, like we normally should in the past, before all the subscription-based and streaming services try to take dominance, that is? No one. Believe me.

Sometimes, I feel some people are taking innovations to reshape our lives and industries kinda the wrong way, outside of what we think.

Oh wow!

Was half-expecting nobody to reply since the game never really rung a bell elsewhere. Good to see people remember.

Anyone here a former MQ forumer? (I assume so since somebody mentioned GC, but it'd be nice to have some insurance.) My monkey name and alias on the forums was Polly Dust Spirit.

Thought the same. Hardly anyone replies in this part, you know.

Not I. I haven't played it at all, come to think of it. Sorry.
