Ok so recently I’ve been informed that Fehzor’s pumpkin carving contest was deleted by Grey Havens. In all honesty, I did kind of expect this to happen, but when I saw the notification he got in game, my intestines straight up imploded.

I’m honestly at a loss for words. The reasoning they gave is just so hilariously hypocritical. “It’s not in the best interest of players to limit or confuse their options” is the last thing I ever expected to come from GH. I don’t think I should have to say why this is so painful to look at, but I will anyways. Limiting and confusing our options has been present in this game in so many ways since the very beginning. Balancing issues, prize boxes, the lockdown meta, etc have been a running issue since the very start. GH has shown that they don’t act in the player’s best interest and now they say this? I’m not trying to start a revolt or anything because it isn’t like they banned him, but really Grey Havens? Show some decency. I beg of you.
As noted, he is welcome to provide whatever prizes he wants in the official contest or recognize effort himself for those entries if he wants. Running your own event is generally acceptable (provided you fall within the rules), however in this case he was forcing players to choose between a long standing official event or another. This restriction was upsetting people who wanted to participate in both and have some festive fun. If the goal is to encourage some pumpkin fun, forcing players to choose one or the other is, in fact, doing the opposite.
