So there's a fifth unused Arcade Gate slot. What if we had an infinite arcade gate? Once you reach Depth 28 it'll start linearly scaling the rewards and difficulty of each level. Depths in this gate will be called "Levels" after depth 28. The catch is that you only get 1 emergency revive after passing Depth 28! Every level you play in this gate will be 100% completely randomized, no run will be the same! The rewards cap out at Level 50, which provides roughly 10kcr per level completed, enemies will only be dropping Gold Crowns.
We can even spice up gate by having some special consumables that can be found throughout the gate. It would also be interesting if there's some unique rewards locked behind here.
This new arcade gate will introduce 3 new achievements
Unforeseen Lands: Reach Level 40 - one time reward of x10 1* Variant Tickets
Into the Uncharted: Reach Level 60 - one time reward of x10 2* Variant Tickets
Endless Chaos: Reach Level 100 - one time reward of x10 3* Variant Tickets
Some interesting things also happen at those levels:
At level 40: Levels not seen anywhere else in Arcade start appearing
At level 60: Void Enemies and Shadow Lair levels begin to appear
At level 100: Randomly-Generated Levels start mixing components with each other creating weird combinations of set pieces.
This arcade gate will simply be referred to as: "Uncharted Clockworks." As for how it fits into the lore, this is an anomaly where clockworks are quickly changing and born anew, producing new worlds just as the player is able to finish them. It's near the source of all the arcade gates.
Does this sound too good? Well the achievement's rewards are one time only, and the tickets are bound. Also it's gonna take a great deal of time to even reach depth 50. Not to mention that you only get 1 Emergency Revive! Meaning you're going to need to spend Sparks after a while. This will promote sets of armor other than Chaos and Black Kat.
I would enjoy this, especially on my days off when I want to sit there and play 20 hours of Spiral Knights, but am stopped by the end of the clockworks. If there was no end of the clockworks, I would just never stop playing, and die. Oh no.
I don't know about "1 emergency revive" because I lag into spikes and eat chips and die all the time though.
