Imagine a WRH reskin that dealt piercing damage and left a trail of rose thorns or snarbolax spikes along the dash trajectory, would be cool and overpowered so it could make a nice <1% drop

Shadow would be very powerful
Shadow would be very powerful too I just can't imagine what it might look like. I guess I thought of piercing first because there's only 1 type of piercing sword. Then again there are only 2 types of shadow sword. That + WRH is already my go to weapon for killing fiends, a piercing WRH would just be ridiculous.

I think we have a lack of piercing swords--though Flourish is very powerful. Maybe a calibur off-shoot?

The Flourish-line swords used to be more powerful, when they had long strokes, before they were nerfed for the sake of Lockdown. I used to use my Flourish-style swords all the time. Now I rarely do.
Are you into this idea for the aesthetics (thorns and spikes), or did you have a gameplay-related reason to prioritize piercing over shadow? Either is fine; I'm just asking.
