Forcing Antialiasing

Hey, since i'm here i wanted to ask. My computer doesn't have an external graphic card and i want to allow at least x8 antialising in the game (to take smoother visuals for the wikia :D) but even when i choose x8 and/or x16, when i restart the client, it just allow me x4. No matter how many times i try it, when i open the game it shows x4.

Its there a way to "force" the x8 or more? or at least know how much antialising my mother board's graphic supports... i know i cant compare my motherboard's graphics with an external graphic card but at least, i think, i should be able to put the antialising to x8 (maybe x16 is asking too much, i know) but as i said, its not like i want that to play, its just to my screens of the items for the wikia, so i would activate it (x8~x16) while looking thought AH and deactivate it (x1~x4) when playing. Thx!

P.D: I have 64bits java installed

Same problem, no idea

I have a similar issue, but only with 16x and only on Linux. I can choose 16x antialiasing on Windows, but on Linux it reverts to 8x. I don't know what's the issue and honestly I didn't really look much into it. This was on my integrated graphics card. I also have dedicated card, but when I tried to launch SK with it (on Windows), it performed much worse than with the integrated card. Seems SK likes integrated cards more. :D

Novideo or Shintel?

Neither of you have mentioned which model and brand are your GPUs. Try forcing x16 level in your driver control panels.

Integrated graphics aren't located in your MOBO, but in CPU as Intel iGPU or AMD APU.

Bought.

You're right, I should've mention the card models, too.

Integrated: Intel UHD Graphics 620
Dedicated: NVIDIA GeForce MX 150

@Nitronicx

I see that you prefer iGPU on Windows, but which do you use on Linux?
I don't know about Intel open source drivers, but with Nvidia (proprietary drivers) it's possible to change anti-aliasing on nvidia-settings just like on Windows in the Control Panel. It it still reverts to x8, force it by using "Override Application Settings" (this will force x16 AA for all games that support it).

Sorry

To be honest, I just wanted to say "yes, I have (or had) that issue, too" and be done with it. :D Anyway, I tested both the 16x AA setting and overall performance and have to correct my previous claims:

1) The Nvidia card performs better than the integrated card. I don't know why it seemed so slow in the past when I tested it. Though now I've noticed that Windows likes to throttle it when it becomes hot, so that may be why I thought it's slow for SK.

2) I no longer seem to have the issue? Again, I don't know what happened, but I can use the 16x AA setting with both Intel and Nvidia graphics. I swear I really had the issue in the past.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Fun fact: There's a bug with some celestial armors and accessories that highlights all edges of the item. I thought it's a Win 10 bug because I didn't have it on Win XP or Linux. In today's testing I found out that the bug doesn't happen also when I use dedicated graphics card instead of integrated. That updates my theory of replicating this bug from "use Win 10" to "use Win 10 with Intel graphics".

Its the CPU?

@Spockler:
I didnt think CPU would be the one controlling that. My CPU is an intel core i5-2500 3.30GHz i remember when i used a Quad with a Nvidia graphic card i could use x16 just fine so, i should be able to do it then since i have a better CPU? i dont have any panel/option for configuring the CPU or maybe i dunno where to look?

@Nitronicx:
Oh and about the celestial items i have the same problem xd, i dont think its for windows, cuz i been using the same windows and when i had the previous setup (quad with nvidia) i could see it just fine and without nvidia but with i5 i see the ugly celestial graphics xd, heres an example:
With my Old Setup (16x AA): https://wiki.spiralknights.com/File:Cat_Tail-Preview.png
Current Setup (4x AA): https://imgur.com/a/2ELN9La
Compare how the wolver tail looks in here (https://wiki.spiralknights.com/File:Celestial_Wolver_Tail-Equipped.png) and notice the big difference xd
