I have been trying to troubleshoot connection problems, but running into further problems trying to troubleshoot due to the fact that the Troubleshooting FAQ was last updated five years ago.
I have made this post to bring this problem to mod's attention and ask others to check as well, so as to compile a comprehensive list of errors.

Service for testing internet connectivity has been discontinued.

Has been replaced with a desktop app, but will not allow me to use the Ashburn, VA location, presumably because I am too far away.

Intructions for uninstalling & reinstalling the game through the steam client reference a "remove local files" button, which no longer exists.

It was replaced with an "uninstall" button, But this still caused some confusion.
