Let's talk about the Black kat event

Hello everyone, how long did you play the current Black kat event and how many Black kats did you kill to find a book? Also, do we need to play on elite to have a better chance of book to drop or normal difficulty is fine?
Looking at the current player statistics, i believe less than 5% of players even found a book. I see no one selling the slots at all. This alone tells me that no one found the book until now. Looks like the odds changed like crazy that they wont drop at all? Hmm...maybe?
or you found one and how many did you kill to find one? Looks like they completely messed with the book odds when they had a change.
Let me know if you think the event is broken regarding the odds.

From what Ive seen book droprate is 1/250, and a black kat replacing a normal kat is 1/90 (found from the code)
Also, difficulty and depth do not increase droprate, the only requirement is that you are in tier 3.
Fun fact, the rate was actually 1/200 before, and now it's 1/250. Why did they make it rarer? Beats me.

So you have to play in Tier 3
So you have to play in Tier 3 for a chance of a book drop? I have played in Tier 2, and I have seen black kats spawning but I got no book.

@Bbsc yes in order to have a chance to get a book you need to play tier 3. yes black kat spawns in tier 2 BUT you only will get tokens in tier 2.

Thanks for the clarification. Reason being, some players, even veteran ones are saying that you can get books at Tier 2 because the RNG deals with the ancient pages. They are saying that as long as ancient pages drop, there is a 0.5% chance of getting a book.

Found one
Update: I found a book after 597 pages to be exact. It's true that the Book drop rate is 1/250, i started playing on elite for 4 hrs and found one when i had like 490 pages.
It looks like the book has a higher chance to drop when you play on elite. Some of my friends found 4 books each. They just play on elite. You guys should try it too. The wiki says it's like an orb, a higher rarity, playing on elite may increase chances... um.. who knows?
a day left, I'm gonna try and calculate everything if i can find another book and update it here.
To answer your first question, I found my first Book after only a few black kats, during the first Kataclysmic Konfrontation. This experience seems to be far from typical.
There have been many threads over the years, in which players express their frustration at the low odds of finding the Books (and hence some of the most powerful gear in the game). It makes everything too dependent on luck.
There have also been threads where players gather data needed to estimate the Book drop rates. The data sets need to be pretty big to constrain the Book drop rate, because the chances are so low.
If you want to find some of these threads, search Google for something like "black kat book chances site:forums.spiralknights.com" (without the quotation marks).
I have not seen any recent large-scale studies of Book drop rates, so I don't have any reason to believe that the drop rates have changed.
