I'm always annoyed how in games the monsters are never effected by obstacles such as spikes and fires (in SK's case, the shadow-fire of FSC or perhaps an oilers trail). I also noticed that monsters can't break blocks, but can sometimes go through them. I was thinking what if the monsters got hurt by spikes and were able to break blocks? Players would no longer be able to safely camp behind blacks and they could also knock monsters into spikes to hurt them.

Trojans can break blocks

It'd make monsters fail if spikes could kill em though, though it'd be nice if they weren't unbelievably unaffected by spikes too..

no simply because the enemy

no simply because the enemy AI isnt smart when it comes to avoiding the obstacle u could easily outsmart them into spikes and such and never have to lift a finger essentially

Well they should at least be

Well they should at least be pushed away from spikes so that they can't just be unreachable (by sword) when they stand in spikes

Some enemies can break

Some enemies can break blocks, such as the Giant Lichen Colonies.
An during the beta, monsters were effected by spikes for a short time. The spike damage was quickly removed because it made thing way too easy, since monsters would casually walk in the spikes and usually stand there until death.

In my opinion, monsters (except jellies and undead, maybe) should try to avoid spikes and other traps as much as possible, even if they don't actually take damage from them.

And also, just something to add to this suggestion thread: Gremlins should be able to pick up keys and move them. This would only really matter in deconstruct zones, and the Gremlins wouldn't do this in T1, to keep things easier. I think this would help give Gremlins more of a "brain", if you know what I mean..

Would like

Better AI and with knowledge of temporary landscape change is hard but it would be cool to see. I've been following the writer of Recast and Detour (open source) on his Digesting Duck blog and he deals with adding and removing temporary landscape objects. Interesting stuff...
