Dear Spiral Knights Development Team,

I would like to request for an option to purchase *PERMANENT* Weapon & Trinket Slot upgrades.

For several years, I've been purchasing Weapon Slot & Trinket Slot Upgrades. These purchases were sporadic because there were long periods of inactivity on my part. Sometimes I would buy and equip those slot upgrades, only to use them for a couple of hours, and then I would go inactive... such a waste.

Rather than having these weapon & trinket slot upgrades expire at the end of 30 days, I would love to have the option to render those upgrades permanent by paying EXTRA. As things are now, each weapon and trinket slot upgrade (from Supply Depot) costs 250 and 150 Energy, respectively. I would not mind paying 25,000 Energy for the PERMANENT Weapon Slot Upgrade, and 15,000 Energy for the PERMANENT Trinket Slot Upgrade. That's exactly 100 times the cost of normal version that expires at the end of 30 days.

It would be safe to assume an average player is NOT going to purchase these slot upgrades 100 times throughout their account lifetime. So by giving us, the players, the option to purchase the PERMANENT version, at x100 the cost, you will be creating a win-win situation whereby you get to collect the payment IN ADVANCE for the current and future upgrade purchases all in one get-go. And for the players who do take advantage of such offer, they win because of significant savings (paying a slot upgrade 100 times would last almost 8 years!)

And if you players choose NOT to purchase the permanent upgrades, then you lose nothing.

Just to be clear, for those who want to purchase these temporary upgrades to last 30 days, they can still do so. What I am requesting is an additional option for a permanent one at x100 the cost.

That's a good idea in a way

That would make farming on the endgame a bit more interesting since you are not farming for only cosmetics, but you are also farming for the utility.
The only problem I see here is that GH just does not have programers to do something like that, although this change being fairly simple to do, which is a bit... Bad? Idk what word use here.

Or rather, switch the duration to be playtime based (i.e. the trinket expiry counts down only when the player is connected). This one change would be so beneficial that reducing the 30-day duration down to 7-day would still feel longer as well as reduce the fear of wasting one's investment into the trinket.

Agreeing with Cutie Kikume!

I do agree with this! this should be a third option since not all players enjoy playing without it and can be very helpful for Shadow Lairs especially! I already think trinkets are pricy as they are but to work up for a permanent one would be more worth it than some temporary one X3

100% agree with Kikume on this one, alot of other games already have this as an option too, and I see nothing wrong with it. I am the same type of player that goes inactive for a little bit, and always comes back. This would be a win-win for everyone.
