You guys need to stop coping bro like, cmon now. Actions speak louder than words and we have seen Grey Havens' actions, clearly they aren't going to do anything huge for the game. Stop making excuses for them this is reality, don't cope bros. Too much cope isn't healthy for you, if you're tired of the state of the game go outside and go to the gym or something.
The facts have been layed upon us since day 1. I'm going to address a few points that comes up frequently and provide my own personal thoughts. Before you read, I've already moved on from this game and accepted it as a part of my life. I don't play anymore, but I hope this post can help some of you guys that are in this endless and unhealthy cycle.
"Grey Havens is only maintaining the game"
Both true and false, they have said previously that we could expect new content to come and anything was possible.

However, before you start typing a response to this, this post was originally pinned. Notice how the state of haven post is no longer pinned, the only reason they would do this is because information provided in here is out of date or no longer applies to Grey Havens' current plans. So while the argument that Grey Havens wasn't going to do anything from the start is false (and they have shown some care with certain updates), I don't think it's reasonable to keep citing this post anymore. Citing this post in arguments as to why Grey Havens should be doing something is blatant cope
"The game needs to be ported"
"The game just needs content updates"
"The game can easily be revitalized"
Come on guys, that's like SUPER COPE. If you have been looking at the traffic this game receives, analyzing numbers on steam charts and interacting with newer players. You would know that the game attracts a lot of new impressions everyday but a very very high percentage of those players end up quitting due to the clear cut problems that the early game presents. Revitalizing the player base and reaching an equilibrium is no easy feat period. The game has many core issues and the low amount of actual playable content is only a small portion of it. Progression, p2w not being very viable due to absurdly high costs, the way cosmetics are handled, just to name a few. It's pretty easy to see these problems early on, let's not forget about the toxic veterans.
C'mon, admit it, you've enforced meta equipment or recommendations onto another player to the point where they are not enjoying the game anymore. Maybe you've kicked someone from your public party because they had only cobalt equipment and had no meta gear, shame on you all, you know who you are. People get seriously turned off by that. You are a part of the problem of the dying community if you're shunning people for the equipment choices and not including them in your runs.
Also, porting, really? Do you know how much time and money it would cost to port a game developed in old java in the early 2000s to modern consoles? It'd literally be more viable to rebuild the game from scratch! HUUUUGE COPE
"Problems with Grey Havens forum posts"
Guys... you're not bringing anything new to the table, and your post isn't magically going to make Grey Havens do something. We've already made hundreds of posts and rants and nothing has happened, what makes you think that your post is going to open Grey Havens' mind and be like "WHOA! I can't believe we were neglecting the community!!!, we're so sorry and we're going to fix the game!!!"
My boy there hasn't been an actual update for how long now...? That's a suspicious amount of COPE Hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe we just haven't said the right thing in hundreds of posts. I'll gladly retract my statement the moment Grey Havens is consistently putting out good community interaction and updates.
"Common Grey Havens Misconception"
An alarmingly amount of people seem to think OOO and Grey Havens are entirely different people... That is completely false If you do a bit of research on linkedln, look at profiles, and read the original Grey Havens takeover post, you will find that Grey Havens is just a small section of OOO employees that have previously worked on Spiral Knights. I don't know where the idea that they are different stemmed from, but it is wrong. Many other OOO employees ended up at Monomi Park and the whereabouts of others are seemingly untraceable.
"The game is stagnating"
Uh, wow no, just take a look at steam charts. We have been on a steady downward curve for YEARS, it's only a matter of time before we hit community death and there's hardly anyone playing the game. A stagnant player-base would have the same average player counts over a long period of time, instead we have had steady decreases. Spiral Knights is NOT stagnating, we are dying. The stagnating statement just blatantly ignores the statistics to make yourself feel better. COPE
Conclusion
So what exactly am I trying to say? Well, I think a lot of you guys are in an endless cycle of making excuses for Grey Havens/yourself and constantly poking them with a stick to try and get them to do something to one of your childhood games that you don't want to die out even though you're now a 40 year old full grown adult and should be focusing more on your life than this kid's game. One word: Cope If I had to guess, you keep trying to find reasons to justify playing the game longer due to how great your old experiences were and nostalgia from some of your first experiences. Maybe you've been playing since Middle/High School and you're afraid of growing up and facing the real world and use this game as an escape from reality and to remember your childhood. Whatever the reason, you're still in this cycle.
No I'm not saying this ironically, I think some of you all in this community need to take a step back for a moment and figure out what you're doing with your life. Go outside, do something productive. I'm not telling you to quit playing Spiral Knights, but is grinding 100+ hours in FSC just to get some cool cosmetics really worth it? Especially on a game like this? If there is something you really want to accomplish in life, you should stop spending so much time on this game and really start working on it. It's OK to play the game in moderation, just stop trying to justify long hours of playtime. If you actually have a game addiction problem, seek some form of help.
I'm not going to call out any names, but some of you all have serious gambling addictions too. Please choose your own personal life over pixels on a screen. Use your money to better you life, not look "cool" in a game nearing the end of its life cycle. Spiral Knights does have a good gameplay loop, but your life should not be revolving around it. Stop procrastinating on your life by idling in haven and barely doing anything in game. If you're using Spiral Knights as a place to socialize with old friends, that's fine. But if you're literally standing there, staring at your screen doing nothing... then... what...?
If you actually have extra money to spend on entertainment, please do not spend your $400 on cosmetics in this game. Do you know how many good games you could get with that money and get infinitely more enjoyment? Do some research about what the hot new titles and games are, and really spend your money well. I would not be against spending money on this game if the people behind it were deserving of your money. Instead we've been blindly milked for years, do you really think they deserve more money? Would you rather have a 5 minute burst of enjoyment from opening prize boxes or many, many hours of enjoyment from other games and forms of entertainment with the same amount of money?
Stop hoping on Grey Havens hate trains too. Wow, Grey Havens did something I don't agree with! Let's LITERALLY INSULT THEIR EMPLOYEES AND SEND THEM DEATH THREATS. That's a great idea! That's really going to get my message across about how much I dislike their current management of the game and how it can be improved. Like dude, that's also part of the reason nothing gets done. If you were responsible for something that other people enjoy and you made a potential mistake or controversial choice, would you love to be made into a scapegoat for others people's anger issues? Yeah, probably not.
Sorry if I came off as toxic during any parts of my post, this is just my unfiltered thoughts about the game's current community and I did not want to sugar-coat anything. You guys have levels of cope that are OFF THE CHARTS. This amount of cope is unhealthy and I hope you guys can see the light.
A lot of people here also have a pretty healthy relationship with this game, play it on and off, come to hang out with friends, just enjoy it for what it is, etc. This post isn't targeted to you guys, keep on playing <3.
As for the rest of you guys who seem to be borderline addicted to this game, please, stop coping and face the facts. It's like you guys are in grief but you're just stuck on the first stage and are in constant denial about the future.
