Okay, so when I first logged on I was like 'Oh boy! I hope this game has magic in it!' I was a little dissapointed that it didn't, but the game itself is so fun that I'm still playing anyway. I've talked to other people about it and a lot of them would also love to see magic introduced, Maybe as elemental staves or wands. I think it would be really cool to have them as another type of weapon with different effects or even one that could cast things with similar effects to what i've seen the monsters use like that stunning cone wave that the stronger zombies spit out or the flamethrower effect. The many different elements provide a huge opportunity for a lot of different types of abilities that I think the game would feel more complete with.

Thanks for reading, and post if you agree!

i agree

i thought it would have magic too, seeing that they had mage outifits. they dont offer good protection from battle, but itd be good for casting spells. maybe they could make it so you can do light and dark magic. thatd be pretty sick.

Guns provide the equivalent

Guns provide the equivalent to your "magic staves" - a Cryotech alchemer would be a "frost stave", a Voltech alchemer would be a "shock stave", etc. While I could see them introducing new guns with additional effects (such as flamethrowers), I don't really see a reason to have a separate class of weapon to fill this roll. The devs decided they wanted pseudotechnology rather than magic, so I'm guessing they aren't going to change that. A directional effect weapon would be a gun, and an area effect weapon would be a bomb...

However, feel free to suggest new types of guns or bombs (like a "Stun Cannon" or "Flamethrower") - new effects are well within the limits of what the devs are likely to implement in the future.

Magic? We've got glass vials

Magic?

We've got glass vials that somehow don't shatter/melt even though they're full of searing hot lava or plasma or supercooled fluid but break open when you throw them at things fast enough (and somehow are unaffected by gravity or friction when you throw them).

We've got lethal exploding pinecones, napalm, stun gas bombs, EMP bombs, gravity bombs... we've got guns that shoot lasers, lightning bolts, fire, and ice, we've got swords that are imbued with darkness, and swords that are charged with high-voltage electricity, swords that are always red-hot, and swords that are near absolute zero temperatures, and swords that toss energy frisbees at people.

And our shields! They emit force fields and are portable (even the ones that look like they're made of wood!)? They never seem to run down or break permanently no matter how much damage they take? Same deal for the armor! It somehow provides protection against things we can't even make real armor protect against without it being expensive or bulky!

None of these seem to use up batteries or any other kind of power source, and our guns never seem to ever run out of ammo (though we oddly still need to reload them).

And in order to make these weapons and armor, we just need to put some energy, money and a bunch of random garbage into a vending machine and it poops out the required item!

The player characters themselves are sentient robots, and they take and deal damage on a regular basis that would make quick work of even our most strongest machines, AND they also never seem to run out of energy when they're operational either, though if they ever "die" or get broken they need "Mist energy" to be repaired and they always are good as new right afterwards.... and if we're out of Mist Energy we can somehow store it in crystals, or wait for our mist tanks to recharge.

I don't see how magic can provide us any further advantage. In fact, some of this stuff is already kinda magical to begin with!

And not to mention we can play with people and form friendships and if a friend needs us we can instantly go and help them out. And Friendship Is Magic.

TL;DR: THERE'S MAGIC EVERYWHERE IN THIS B****.
