It makes no sense, why run almost exclusively Gemstone boxes for an entire year just to do it all over again? There are so many prize boxes that the community is begging for... You guys want to listen to us and earn lots of money right? Then please... just run those boxes... I'm literally crying right now 😭

Literally no one asked for another year of gemstones. We were tired of them by the end of last year. If gemstones become standard like Equinox/Solstice without interfering with other promos, okay whatever. But please, don’t just repeat last year because that will not be good for the game.

All we can do is vote with our wallets against this. I'm personally not going to spend anything on these promotions.

I just log in to hoard, sell stuff, and chat with people. I've got a decent appearance in terms of market; people know I've sunk quite a lot into gem stuff.

To be frank, the reason I'm disappointed isn't because I'm likely going to lose out on it. I've put a lot into gems because I figured if it reruns again the year after, it's a definitive sign that the game is inching towards shutdown. This is simply lazy, and not nearly as profitable as if GH reran literally anything else. I'm just disappointed in the decision to rerun them. Not only are the numbers for the items are run into the ground, the supply of gem from last year is still floating around in the market, everything being relatively easy to find which is way more cost-effective than buying the boxes from GH through depot.

I was actually seriously considering doing a big community-wide giveaway sometime in 2022 because clearly the staff doesn't really give much to excite us, what with our primary go-to's for all things SK are literally in-game players through third-party things (Lego on Twitch, well-known community members and moderators of the official SK Discord, etc). What do we really expect from GH anymore besides reruns? Not even bug fixes, that's for sure. There's so little morale for me to even want to do this giveaway anymore, I'd rather just go inactive for the remainder of this year. Or forever. Not even joking. People are already meming that they're probably also just going to rerun splash as well and then be done with 2022. Absolutely no expectations.

I'm never on forums so I'm just going to voice my dissatisfaction all at once. There are definitely a few things that I was content with following this game's changes since GH took over, but similarly there's been strings of bad moves on their part. People haven't forgotten about how they handled the thing with Lucas. There was nothing for the 10th Year Anniversary. Are we gonna be kept in the dark about development/planned reruns/in-game unreleased data forever? Where the heck are my chinese new year boxes? Can't even do promos right smh.

Please retract the gem box re-reruns for this & next year. Doing that gives me the faith that GH can at least listen to player dissatisfaction instead of tuning us out because I'm pretty sure nobody wanted this.

I'm just going to be blunt here. This is honestly one of the worst financial decisions they could make.

1. People already whaled on gem boxes, there's going to be a huge crash in sales this coming year.

2. Stale market. There are so many older boxes that have never seen the light of day in 5-6 years. Barely any items from that era have lasted, and with the current unbind system they will never hit the market again. This leads to a very boring market and decreased motivation from players to at all. What is the hesitation of re-releasing old items? It only hurts the economy.

I seriously think GH should think this over. The game only has a couple hundred consistent players and decisions like this gives them no reason to log in. Especially when these players were asked what they want to see again. Remember how successful the splash boxes were? The way to get players back in the game again is to introduce fresh new items into the rotation. I have a feeling if this goes through, the stats are not going to look good this year..

As a player of many MMO's, actual playable content and so called "DLC" would be fantastic, and preferable over constant cosmetics. Don't get me wrong, I love cosmetics, but they don't really make the game If the endgame farm boss is still Vanaduke for the past 11 years (and let's not forget moonstone and valestone are literally useless on every single account.)

It's also nice to have Dev's and staff members communicate with their player-base thoroughly and actually taking their considerations to heart.

In the past whenever we spent at least $10, we would be allowed on the preview server to chat directly and if you were lucky you'd see all the developers and team who were open about almost everything that was going on or planned besides "super secrets"

It just can't be that hard unless they too hate this game, given the vast amounts of mods that have been made for this game with such a small player base of less than 1000 people, making new weapons and levels cannot be that difficult.

The Skyblivion project modder team believed in their ability and are creating an amazing game remake with no official revenue. there are a lot of examples I could throw here as comparison of what they could do since they are technically not under corporate terms with Sega.

This game still has incredible potential, and they just let it slowly die off like it's another failed early access game on steam.

I'm going to keep asking for REAL content because every good game updates and tries to add something new, this whole box mumbo jumbo, why do we have to stay excited for new cosmetics when everyone still has to farm vana because all other places are not as viable?

Instead of gem boxes, I would appreciate if someone from Grey Haven's LLC comes fourth and talks to us and gives us the truth and nothing but the truth about what's planned how everything is going.... maybe they need help or are looking to hire or volunteers to help improve the game....

It is with the utmost respect possible that I sincerely request you rethink your decision to rerun the Gemstone promotional boxes. I believe it is in the best interest of the community you have done an oh-so-great job fostering these past years, as well as the wonderful team that keeps this game running through server maintenance and customer support, to perhaps provide an alternative promotion campaign for the coming year. Personally, it would be far more refreshing and successful (in terms of player support and interest), if we possibly saw some older promotion boxes return instead. Some might call me crazy, some might call me insane, but I think that I, along with my fellow community members have a fairly well-informed vision for what this year's prize boxes could be.

A fellow Spiral Knight, known by the name Exelius, has slaved for countless hours in order to compile a list through accurate data collection from over 100 survey participants in regards to what promotions they would like to see this year. We only had the Gremlin promo once in history, and that was nearly eight years ago. Now THAT is a promo that DESERVES to rerun, since we've only been getting Glacial Gremlin costumes ever since, which, let's be honest, they look hideous.

I would like you to reconsider your decision to issue a second rerun of gem boxes this year. Exelius has created a survey with over 100 players and compiled a list of promo boxes that the community would like to see, and a rerun of gem boxes is definitely not among them. This list has been sent to Spiral Knights support staff, and I would suggest that Grey Haven have a look at top picks and integrate them into the plans for this year.

As someone who has spent a ton of money on Spiral Knights in the last few years, I am very disappointed with Grey Haven’s current decision, and I can list many players who feel the same. It comes across as disrespectful to the community, for we have been very patient with the lack of new content and have expressed our desire to see certain box promos return, but instead we are presented with something we don’t want at all. While I would love to continue supporting Spiral Knights, it is up to Grey Havens to make my spending worthwhile.

I don't support a rerun of the gems promo, I was getting sick of last year ones, Fix this Cronus

Grey Havens I am aware of your mission to "maintain" the games you own but we're getting to a point that I think it can't be sustained unless you're willing to take a step forward in a move of good faith. Every year we get increasingly more disappointing signs from your company all be it small things more often than not but they've been adding up in this 10+ year old game for awhile now. Simple things like botching the link to the current promotion, typoing minor things, and obvious copy pastes that are irrelevant to players support tickets. Rerunning the same batch of promotions for another year with a player base that is for the most part sick of seeing them is just the most recent addition to this list. Although it may seem small or petty in a way it really isn't when you add it to the list, it is a whole new level to showing us that Grey Havens as a company has no interest in this games well being whatsoever.

The last unique box promotion came 04/19/19 w/ Battle Boar Boxes, the last true note worthy "Game Update" came 08/07/2019 with the final changes to the Treasure Vaults, and the last recolored promotion came in 12/11/19 w/ the ShadowTech boxes. The last trickle of any form of content we had died out in 2019 we've just been on reruns since then which is manageable just with the sheer amount of promotional boxes that have been stockpiled over the years but now we're to the point that we cant even get a thoughtful promotion box rerun schedule? I know you've claimed that other promotions(plural) but after last year it's hard to believe in that statement or we will at least have disappointed take on it assuming the other promotions will be lucky, equinox, and solstice pretty much exclusively which don't really cut it with how often we get them.

I genuinely hate talking about this game or your company with a negative view like I am here but it is impossible not to with how this game has fallen. I know the company has a history with mistrust in the past and the way the internet and the world is you should never have complete trust but we need something. As nice as things like Cyber Monday, rare featured auctions, and GM Interviews are we need to take steps beyond that and not back peddle anymore. At the very least we need a true community manager in some form or another, a staff member that keeps in touch with the community to work with us on some level. It doesn't even have to be a paid position, go slightly out of your way and consult the pillars of the community and ask us things or listen to what is being said. Consult Lego, Fangel, Turbillion, myself, or someone when you hash out some plans for the game.

I've been told that I've put more effort into this game than you the company that runs it on multiple occasions in the past year which I find quite sad, I really enjoy community events that give players an excuse to have fun while also being rewarded which do take time to set up but if I can put more effort in with a couple hours of free time than a company can while putting out a incorrect or flawed copy paste/statement that is incredibly disappointing. By the way the gem box details have some missed information I helped you fix last year, pearl boxes also have wolver and cat tails in them not just diamond and emerald. I can skim through with less than five minutes of proof reading and catch errors that are a simple fix.

I know that this game gets even less attention than it's sibling Puzzle Pirates because the game masters actually enjoyed playing it more so than Spiral Knights but please give it at least the bare minimum you can, which some how the company can't even manage that.

I love this game to a fault and I want to continue to, I've put in nearly 300 days into playing, socializing, merchanting, making or participating in community events, managing a guild, and probably many other things. I am by all means addicted to Spiral Knights even in it's current state in a healthy way I believe. I've seen many many people quit during my 10+ years in this community which I really hate to see, I accepted the state of this game for what it was in 2018 however it's somehow declined since then and I never have wanted to say this but this is my last year on Spiral Knights if it has really declines this far. I want to continue to do the many things I love in Spiral Knights this, this community is a very special one and I want to reach out to better it in a positive away, not by hating on it till my dying breath.

Please work with us even if it means putting up with some unpleasantries
