I'm having problems with binding my account to steam. The reasons are two things, One I want to get the tf2 free hats (is it still possible to get it?) and Two I just want another game witha lot achievement unlocked on my steam account
Once you login in the Steam version with your non-Steam account, you should automatically get a prompt offering you to convert your account. If this does not happen, check if "Options" -> "Prompts" -> "Offer to convert to Steam account" is checked off.
