It seems to me that at present, this game is very limited in regards to Guild Play, I only started playing Spiral Knights 3 days ago, I fell in love with it instantly, bought a starter park and have formed a guild with 6-7 friends.

While I am not fully aware (and am trying to discover) the development status of this game, It seems like it is very much in it's infancy as an MMO. There is no pvp, limited co-op play (max 4 players in a group) and little to no point to having a guild other than having a private chat channel.

I would suggest allowing guilds to customize their guild halls, allowing them to hire npc's (for energy or crowns) that sell items to guild members at a discounted price, or guild storage/treasure chests.

Adding to that, something that would bring a guild together, larger scale events, where maybe up to 8 or 12 members of a guild could co-operatively enter into a much larger scale boss raid. Another non combat based idea might be mini games playable between guild members in the guild hall or group crafting.

Guild vs Guild play should be implemented to encourage loyalty to a guild, people should be proud of their guild due to their acheivements (thwarting a rival guild in pvp for example).

If there is a development blog/resource somewhere which updates users on the current plans or roadmap for this game I would very much like to see it.

Thanks

Bongeh

hmm, seem's that the only threads on this forum that actually get replied too are one's written in capital letters by children whining about how the game isn't free. Fabulous.

Your thread's only six hours

Your thread's only six hours old and is entirely comprised of stuff that's already been brought up many times, indeed many times on the first two pages as of this writing; it'll come, don't worry. I doubt we'll see 4+ player parties, but PvP is absolutely in development, Guildhall customisation has been brought up (although the current consensus seems to be that, whilst Guilds are rather pointless at present, giving them much in the way of gameplay-enhancing benefits would be tantamount to discrimination against people who don't want to join a Guild). If you keep an eye on the General forum you'll see announcements as to what's currently in the pipeline for updates.

These are all sensible suggestions but they've all come up repeatedly before; the reason energy-rage threads get more attention is that it's a stupid suggestion that comes up all the time, and I think the hope is that if they're shot down every time they pop up people will stop posting them (this is a madman's dream, to be sure, but still).

(Actually, something we probably could do with would be the Announcements thread permalinked from Suggestions.)

yeah, okay, i get your

yeah, okay, i get your point.

I definitely feel like this game needs a formalized development blog, or atleast as you've said, a stickied areas where posts that state what is being developed currently are held. Scouring the forums and sifting through hundreds of threads to find genuine information from developers isn't fun.

Who wouldn't want to join a guild? Especially if there was benefits from doing so. I can't think of 1 multiplayer game that features co-operative play that doesn't encourage clan/guild play for an enhanced experience. I understand that solo play is a choice, and one that I myself take in some MMO's, but you can do still play solo whilst in a guild.

Is it just me

Wasn't there PvP back in Closed Beta? I know for certain that there was a PvP arena back then. You would queue in at a terminal in the Arcade, and wait until an acceptable amount of other players queued in as well. Then you would all tele to a map where you could bash each others brains out. There was respawning, vial spawners, pot spawners, and even spikes.

What ever happened to that? What was the reason it was removed?
